    On sideline. No pads. Never seen him play, but he has a lot of girth and not totally sure it's all "good" weight. Of course, being out of action so long might be part of the reason. But then again maybe he's the next Levon Kirkland.

    Just got back from the game:

    Mumphrey played but limped all day Fowler looked fine Arnett clearly the best WR Cook looked like an Ann Arbor QB. Just chucking it out there and hoping for the best. But he's a fresh and not a starter, so no big deal. The defense is everything and more. Hoover is just gigantic. Calquohn looked good. Laveon spent game hanging out with Jerel and Draymond.

    Thanks for insight! Unfortunately hard to gauge the O with Cook slinging it. Oh well feel like TE Simms is gonna be in full beast mode! Gholston is just damn.... when he ran down that runplay from the backside, holy sheite. Hill showed me somethin too. The D is gonna be sick... I pity Boise State, night game LOL Gholston gonna feed. + 1 sir.

  • Some thoughts...

    Hill looked good, he looks like a good #2 for us. Gonna make a few plays for us this year I think. I just heard about Capers injury, very disappointing obviously. Weird to think that between the two RBs that were so hyped we may only get one good season out of one (Caper) and a couple good seasons out of the other (Baker).

    Excited about Adams. I remember an OSU fan friend of mine who is very, very, very into Ohio recruiting and things was telling me "Dantonio has to have him at WR, he needs the ball in his hands" when we first got him. The fact of the matter is Adams could have been at WR the last few years and made a great deal of impact and probably gotten drafted at that position soon. They called him "Mr Excitement" in HS for a reason.

    Sims Jr looked like the best WR to me

    Sims, honestly, if that guy can stay healthy and dedicated he should be one of the best in the country at what he does. He's one of the top 5 most physically gifted players on the team.

    Gholston...may not get another year out of him.

    I have never been a fan of Mitchell White...because honestly at the beginning of his career he was probably the worst DB I had ever seen on an MSU team (saying alot). But he looks like a guy that has steadily improved over the years and can step in and do what's necessary.

    Drone will be on the field in some capacity this year

  • I don't think any wr stood out, The defense as a whole will be unstopable, it seems that no matter who they plugged in, the defense as a collective unit was outstanding. I don't think the offense will be anything special but the defense really blew me away. The kicking game will be fine, I'm sure nobody came away encouraged but we all know what Conroy is capable of and Sadler is a hell of a punter. I'm very excited about this year's team, I hope Maxwell can really deliver this year; it will be a special season if he can.

    For those who were there, how was attendance?

    The attendance estimate, per MSUSpartans.com, was 21,000. IIRC, that figure would make it the worst-attended spring game in the Dantonio era. I know that we had a bunch of big-name recruits in today, so I'm hoping none of them left campus with any sour feelings caused by anything.

    The weather was THE major reason.
