Finally had Jets for probably the first time since High School. Just a basic square pepperoni but damn good... might be sold on it.

I'm a Buckeye fan. Not here to gloat, but to participate in the MI pizza thread as I live in Lansing. My favorite pizza in MI is the Jet's Pizza Jet 10. So good wanna slap somebody's mama. Second is Deluca's Meat lovers pizza. Third is Georgio's. It does have a unique flavor. Fourth is Pizza House. Honorable mention: Old Chicago in Okemos.

No...I was not. However, I knew someone who owned a restaurant in Detroit that Duffy would eat at when in the area.

Ordered Benito's Big Meal deep dish (pepperoni, ham, Italian sausage, ground beef, mushrooms, onions, green pepper & extra cheese) with garlic butter crust last night. With Jets deep dish 'Jet 10' as a baseline, my thoughts:

It was greasy (bottom of the box was soaked) but delicious. Good amount of cheese and good amount of toppings...better than Jets, which seems to skimp on them more and more every time I order there. The mushrooms on both disappoint me...not enough and too small.

l like the dice on Benito's veggies better than Jets. Jets dices too small...sometimes the little pieces get burnt to a crisp going through the oven.

Jets deep dish dough is much thicker and more bread-like than Benito's. Benito's crust wasn't quite as crispy but I liked it...maybe because I've had too many overdone pizzas from Jets in the last few months.

Also ordered the pepperoni bread with a side of garlic cream cheese. Both were very good but the garlic cream cheese isn't worth the $2 add-on
