    Was watching the Jeremy Ware Iowa hit then watched this hook and ladder play. Announcer says "the audacity" of that call. That's tv speak for " how did Dantonio fit his balls into that tunnel to get into the stadium tonight". lol

  • I was at that game. One of the best I've ever been to, if only we had won. Walking out of there that night was the saddest walk out of SS I had ever been a part of. No one was speaking.

  • How many of those calls have been made with MD as HC? At least 1 a year:

    2007 - fake punt vs PSU (this one you sort of knew was coming)
    2008 - ??
    2009 - hook and lateral vs Iowa
    2010 - little giants vs ND
    2011 - rocket vs Wiscy (this was not unexpected but it worked!)

    It was 5, actually. I only remember that because between the Spartans and my Steelers that year, I watched 12 blown fourth-quarter leads. Closest thing to an existential football crisis I've ever suffered. panic

    2009- Swenson onside kick that went 10 yards and bounced back 3 vs Notre Dame.

    no doubt, I could just remember the 3 games when the defense surrendered the lead in the opponents last possession of the game.

    Was there too. On the goal line where Iowa scored the last TD. One of the worst experiences I've ever had SS. Still remember the feeling.

  • does anyone else remember the play I believe it was @ ND Cousins first year as a starter. We scored a TD then ran an onsides kick. It took ND so be surprise they had their entire team running to get into punt return coverage and we got the onsides with complete ease. I believe immediately after that was when Ray broke off a big run down the sidelines and fumbled it.

    that onsides was awesome though, perfect play perfect timing.

    The first time MSU basketball aired in France the French surrendered to Tom Izzo just to be safe.

    Lol. Great pot stirring thread. That was a legitimate question to ask at the time. Ozy nailed it with the reference to poor safety play and a lack of a decent edge rusher. Kudos to him.
