I'm so fucking sick of people saying this. It's completely specious reasoning and annoying as fuck. Pittman is clearly a stud recruit, so he clearly has a high ranking and thus excites people.

When people say that "stars don't really matter" we're talking about the fact that the difference between a 5.7 three star and a 5.8 four star is practically non-existent, and certainly nothing more than subjective slotting into a category due to any number of factors - many have nothing to do with the kid's actual talent. So of course we will be happy when highly rated kids commit to MSU, but to suggest that just because a kid like Kings is rated .1 less than some other recruit and is thus inferior is absolute stupidity.

the kid is clearly excited about MSU and wants to be a Spartan. That's worth far more than any recruiting site ranking in my book. I don't give a rats ass if he's a high 3 star or a low 4 star....same difference. What I do care about is that he truly wants to be a part of something special and to do it under the coaching and guidance of Mark Dantonio. That makes him and every other kid who commits to Michigan State a Five Star talent who will make our team better.

I'm not going to get too excited about Kings just yet, until he commits! I was excited about Jaleel especially when he wore State's jersey and was posing next to the trophies. I was excited and thought he would commit to State no doubt and looked what happened...

But I'd like to have Madaris or Sheperd...I love their games...

I know what you mean. What made it worse were the douchebags who pretend to have inside information that like to read the tea leaves and then say they "heard from a source" that Johnson was going to commit.

For example if I were going to pose as an insider right now, I would post that I expect Kings to commit within the next few days. See how that works?

They get me everytime though. I had my hopes up for Johnson and those were hightened by the damn pretend insiders, not just on this site but on Rivals too.

I agree with you in our case because Coach D has a great track record of identifying talent and developing it.
