Spartan Tailgate was in the house Friday as a pair of 2012 MSU commits squared off in Farmington Hills WR Aaron Burbridge and Southfield (Mich.) Lathrup LB Jamal Lyles.

I hope he plays on both sides like Lippett. WR as the main but I think he could be extremely effective in the nickel and dime formations. Too much speed to not use.

Question about AB: Reading today the NCAA is considering raising the GPA for high school seniors to be eligible to 2.3 from 2.0... might that affect AB?
I know the JUCOs go from 2.0 to 2.5 so you know Auburn's strategy is now voided...

No way it could go in affect this year IMO. You would have committed kids who have already been cleared getting their ships pulled left and right. If it did, I have a feeling you would see a couple lawsuits spring up claiming the NCAA's expectations weren't clearly defined. NCAA would be unfairly messing with kid's futures, and parents aren't going to take that sitting down.

Nope that's correct- when I posted the top 100 had not been officially updated so I wasn't 100% sure RJS was not in it.

Nice write up on AB, where they ranked him the top player in the state for the Best of the Midwest.
Did anyone else know his coach lined him up at DE?
High praise as well saying he's the best athlete to come out of Harrison considering the lineage that that school has. Glad he decided on the good guys.

Football came easy to Aaron Burbridge when he was in the seventh grade, and given what we know now, not much has changed. Except that everything has changed.

He's also a pretty darn good CB prospect. Supposedly he's a faster version of Mark Dell.
Michigan State does not and will not run the 3-4 defense.

They're calling him the best athlete to ever come out of FHH high school. Those are some high words of praise considering FHH has produced many great college players and some pros. He was also listed as one of the fastest players in the country, this guy is a freak athlete and could be the most talented guy we've brought in at WR since Charles Rogers.
Super excited about Burbridge and it's great to hear that he's been a Sate fan his whole life.

No homo, look at the kid in the picture, he's shredded as a senior in high school. I see all american and maybe a two way player in his future. Gem of this class.

Especially comments from dudes who are going to CMU or Eastern and have the nuts to talk about MSU academics???
We drill them the next two years and bring it to six in a row- they will really be crying. Also, probably less new walverines on the shelf too.
