    This is ignorant. Obviously you have to make sure that kids are serious about their commitments, but Pittman's talent and potential vastly surpasses that of McCall and you don't treat those kinds of players the same way. You don't kick a kid like Pittman to the curb just because he wants to go on a free trip. Will Gholston decided against taking his visits, but you'd better be damn sure Dantonio would have let him. MSU has other offers out there for DE already, so even if he were to decommit it wouldn't leave the coaches completely high and dry. If your goal is to "send a message" you'd better think about what message the coaching staff really wants to send. If the football team is really a family, that relationship goes ways. When a player commits to Michigan State, he needs to know they're also committed to him.

    Disagree. You can't break and bend the rules for certain recruits it's not fair. Recruits know the rules before they commit, that's why MD has only had 1-2 kids that have been committed to him, go elsewhere. Allowing Pittman to go on a visit, opens up the following scenario for future recruits.

    Recruit: "But coach, you let that Pittman guy go on a visit after he committed. I thought your policy was no other visits once I commit?

    If he is going to allow Pittman to visit other schools, he mine as well throw that whole "rule" of his out the window. Just my two cents. And Pittman is from OH, save the he wants to take a free trip to OSU bs, he can hop in his car and be in Columbus in an hour. It's not like we're talking USC, Auburn, or Alabama here.

    Recruits know MD wants them to be 100% sure before they commit. That's why he has such a low rate of decommitments. It has nothing to do with some sort of ultimatum. You don't build a genuine family atmosphere on ultimatums. McCall said he was going to look at Iowa, and that's why his scholarship was pulled. If Pittman assures Dantonio he's 100%, but he wants to visit OSU to make his girlfriend happy, see a basketball game for free, or whatever, there's not a chance Coach D will show him the door.

Yeah we (high school teammate Se'Von Pittman and I) talk every day and we are both ready to roll to Michigan State and make names for ourselves," Canton McKinley's Jermaine Edmondson told Rivals.com.
    "My reaction is the same," said Pittman. "I'm still committed to Michigan State. Urban Meyer being at Ohio State now does not change that I'm committed to Michigan State ...Urban Meyer being there, it really doesn't affect things at all, I mean, I would like to meet him but other than that it doesn't really affect anything.”

    I don't think that's the point. We will all take the words that are right from the kids mouth before any rumors started by a mod on a recruiting website.

    That article is dated December 2nd and Matt Dorsey would not run with old info. Besides OSU has other needs more pressing needs.

    This is 100% legit info. Poster over at the mag is related to Pittman and giving play by play info. Sevon will be at OSU this weekend for an OV. However Edmondson is 100% Green FWIW

    Based on this, I'm feeling pretty comfortable that he'll end up at MSU.

    I won't feel comfortable until after the visit and he says something similar...Urban is a master at getting recruits to flip. Looks like he got Dodson to flip to OSU.

  • Been hearing a lot of things in regards to Pittman recently. I will just say that what I have read isn't good for MSU.

    rumor is if he goes on OV to OSU expect him to flip. Supposedly OV this weekend

    I just hope this is over sooner rather than later one way or another.
