You're off by nearly 30 pounds on Iowa. Mitch King and Matt Kroul were the best DT combo in the B1G and played at 255 and 264 respectively. Karl Klug then played at 268 and Mike Daniels was a "giant" at 274.
To Red Hot Llama: Don't get too caught up in heights/weights. There are certain thresholds (you don't see a 5'10 DT usually), but I've seen guys range from 6'0 to 6'7 have great success at DT in college, and range from 255 (King) to 350 pounds. It's all about technique and hands. Additionally, it matters where the weight is; John Simon for tOSU played DT at around 270 this season but is a weight room freak athlete. Being 6'4 320 doesn't do you any good if most of that weight is fat.
As it pertains to these recruits, don't worry if they're "undersized" right now; they're not being expected to play and even if they were, they have 8 months to diet and exercise. If you can safely add or lose 1 pound/week, you're looking at a possible weight gain of 30 pounds or more between now and the fall. More likely they're going to RS; evaluate where they're at in the fall of 2013.

Michigan State does not and will not run the 3-4 defense.

technically you're correct, but generally when you're building muscle, your body is burning fat to do so. That give the impression of the fat turning into muscle. I suppose it is, indirectly, in that the fat is broken down to fuel the muscle growth.

wants them and they want to be here. I was just surprised to see the bit that he was the OH Defensive player of the year but only a low 3 star so wondered if there was an injury concern or something limiting his ranking. he's listed as the 74th player in the state...just seems odd.
