If MSU wasn't so tight on scholarships they would take both Cooper and Dunbar.
What the staff really likes about Cooper is his potential as an edge pass rusher. Dunbar projects more to SDE at the next level. There is a possibility that Dunbar could move inside because he appers to have the frame to gain additional size.
Note : Dunbar would be a better DT prospect than Khari Bailey.

A few comments on that. Cooper is a stud. Nobody could touch the guy in the drills. Dawson looked like the best OL there, but Finley is close. They are on the same level. Cass tech has an incredible duo of linemen with those two. LTT looks awful. He false starts every play. Constantly goes past the whistle, and constantly gets beat. He either will not play at michigan or he will give up 3 sacks a game and have about 100 penalties a game.

from what I read, Finley looked like the best OL at the camp. Dawson was hot and cold - not bad but not his best performance. LTT had a rough day. Cam Dilliard had a really rough day. Nobody stopped Cooper at SMSB, at MSU's camp, or at Notre Dame's camp. Kid can fly.

So I wonder if the staff tells Coop on his phone call with him that they are trying to lock up the last DE spot in this class? May need to commit real soon to make sure he has it, although I would like to take two D Ends in this class and maybe not take a guard or the other big WR the staff still seems to be looking for.

The article says exactly what the tweet says. He thought about making a commitment in August, but he's going to hold off. Sounds like he wants to make sure of his decision, but doesn't really say what changed from just a few short days ago. It's written by an ND writer, FWIW.

I prefer Cooper personally, but if our staff is willing to accept the commitment of any of them, that means they rate them all roughly the same.
I trust our staff's ability to judge talent, so if Cooper decides to wait until there's no room left for him, I see it as his loss, not ours.

These are high school kids trying to make one of life's bigger choices. Let's skip the preemptive "your loss, not mine" sentiment as any relationship is a two entity proposition. I think it's best said that we hope he lands in MSU, as he would be a great fit for the attacking DL here.
I agree that anyone getting an offer from MSU is likely quite talented and MSU, as a program, right now, is strong enough to be beyond needing any specific player.

I agree with what you said wholeheartedly. Just trying to calm things down based on some of the recent comments.
We as fans may have our preference, but if the coaches are offering Player X, Y, and Z and would accept the commitment of any of them, they probably grade them out the same. In this specific instance, we should be equally happy with any of their commitments even if it prevents the commitment of another.

Lets hope that gets him over the hump - I really think he's "the guy" of the five or so that are in the running for what might end up being one spot. We'd love to see the others in Green and White as well, but there are not enough schollies to go around this year.

That sounds amazing. It's widely anticipated that Augusta will grow easily into the DT slot though. No matter though because LT will be on the other side.....unless he grows I to a DT too.
