'13 MD ATH Zach Bradshaw (Virginia Verbal)

No, he hasn't been invited. The MSU coaching staff has spoken to his HS coaches and are evaluating his film but not really sure at this point what level of interest they have. Hopefully they will offer but we are extremely excited and thankful for the opportunities he has been given. We are headed to Rutgers this weekend and will make plans to visit his Big Ten offers in the spring.

Ok, thanks for the update. I hope they invite him up here soon, his film and offer list really speaks for itself. Would love to have him in the G&W. But wherever he ends up I will definitely be rooting for him (as I'm sure a lot on this board will be).

Definitely rooting for your son to get the dream scholly to MSU.

Like I said before you did a great job- your kid is a phenomenal athlete, good student (offers from Northwestern and Duke), and a Spartan fan. Kudos to you and Zach's mom.thumbsup

  • I understand that there are a limited number of schollies and maybe bigger needs than an ATH/WR for 2013........but how does he not have an MSU offer yet? Ties to the area and family bleeds Green. Coach D needs to get this kid to E.L. and find a spot for him.

completely agree. i always thought the staff liked athletes that prjected to multiple positions. This kid looks like a wr that could also project to defense.

Lets be realistic here what are the chances we land Bob Foster or Laquan Treadwell? I would like to see him get an offer.

Dead on. Kid looks like he can play at almost any weight or positiondo and maybe......I'm saying maybe so no one light me up...transition to that pass catching tight end.
I have a bad feeling if we pass he'll have a monster summer and blow up. We could end up paying for not bringing one of our own into the fold. Plus, hoke and mattison are smart enough to use it against us.

According to 247 he is the same height and only 35lbs lighter than shallman (who we were looking at to play H-back) maybe if he bulked up he could play H-back? Idk just throwing that out there. Shallman is 245 and Zach is 210.

Offering as defensive ATH; possible OLB or safety.

  • interesting...looks like schools are trying to determine what position he projects. Difficult when you have less than 15 scholarships

I suspect if MSU had 23 to give out that Bradshaw would already have the offer. State's looking for 1 WR max and 1 OLB. Intriguing prospect, reminds me of Ryan Allison.

Michigan State does not and will not run the 3-4 defense.

  • Just saw that Zach is visiting enemy territory this weekend. Pulling big time for this kid to get the offer from MSU- would hate to see him go to the dark side.

Be patient a lot can happen between now and next fall for scholarships and needs to change- Go Green Zach!

Being low on schollies I don't see him getting an offer unless it's one of those last minute offers.

I hope he commits and plays for Michigan, Bradshaw looks like a great athlete, but I feel his first love is strong for the Spartans. I could be, and I hope I am wrong.

Have you guys heard a timetable for him?

Edit: One thing though, once he commits to a school I feel he sticks with them no matter.

  • Damn that sucks. Say it isn't so!

Have to love a kid who was born Green and bleeds Green, but going to scuM would be like going to the dark side. After reading about his Chris Hill jersey and room painted Green he became my favorite recruit.

Hope that he waits it out for our staff to help make his dream come true. A lot can happen between now and throughout the rest of the year. The staff will no more about injuries and who will not be coming back as expected opening up more schollies.

Worst part about this is we are going to have 23-24 schollies the following year and room to give one for sure.

That's not so unbelievable. In fact, it's more likely. They're far and away his best offer. True, they are the archrival of his lifelong team, but we haven't offered him a scholarship and sometimes that can turn a kid off.
I think we'd all hate to see him at scUM, it's an absolutely disgusting thought. Makes me want to vommit. However, his dad is an alumn, his heart will always be green, and if we don't have room for him in a very weird year scholly wise we should wish him nothing but the best. Seems like an awesome kid and he comes from a great family that are without question loyal to the green and white.
