I think MSU has a very good chance with Hicks. O$U may not offer him since they already have a couple of CB's committed for 2013. If O$U were to extend him an offer then all bets are off but right now MSU is in good position with him.

I don't know if this is true per se on offense (although, low-star/no-star players like Cousins, Cunningham, K-Mart, and Bell were better than most of their 4-5 star colleagues), it is true for defense. Jim Tressel, who knows a thing or two about putting together championship teams, has been quoted as saying Dantonio was the best evaluator of defensive talent he had ever seen.
As I've said many times before, in college football you can trick up an offense anyway you want to match your personnel, and score a bunch of points. Defense reigns supreme in college -- more so than in the NFL. That's why MD is having success.
Michigan State does not and will not run the 3-4 defense.

I'll say it, because I'm sure if you do, you'll get negged to hell
Hicks says that if UM offers, they're his favorite. The reasons are basically the Big House (ie, playing in front of 100K+) and "the whole environment". He's been there twice, for SDSU and the Ohio State game.
I don't know if he's been up to MSU for a game yet. With any luck he'll hold off till he gets up to MSU.

Tbh, being at -2 dv isn't that bad for that post of mine, I expected more.
That only other thing I found noteworthy in the article is that Mattison is the one recruiting him. For those that don't know, he is considered one of the best recruiters in the nation.

I gave you a +1 as well. These player threads are for all news about the player's recruitment, not just the MSU-positive press. Not all posters appreciate that, but that article is precisely the type content that should be in the individual players threads.
Off of that, how many CBs is UM taking and where does Hicks fall on that list?

Some are saying he won't get an offer when he visits. There is a ton of chatter that Gareon Conley, 6'1" CB, out of Massillon OH, will commit this weekend. If that happens the only other DB commits Michigan will take would be a Cravens or Fuller type of recruit. At least that is what I have read.
For reference, link to Conley's page. http://247sports.com/Player/Gareon-Conley-18760
