Glad to see one of these services finally ranked this guy appropriately.

Great to see him finally getting the recognition he deserves.

I couldn't agree more. Coach D did a great job locking up Powell early.

Powell is a top 20 player in OH on ESPN, and Shane Jones is a top ten recruit from OH in those same rankings.

  • Warren Harding safety Jalyn Powell was making plays on the offensive side of the ball in his team's 27-12 win on Friday. Powell scored on a 25-yard reception and a 9-yard run. In week one (Aug. 30), Powell had 13 tackles.

  • Quote me now, this kid is going to be the gem of the class. If you disagree, take another look at his junior highlights. The kid is a bruiser..Earned First Team All-State this year. Anyway we can get his senior film? Anyone know his senior stats?

What do you guys think? Why is he so underrated?

I certainly agree he is under-rated. He has some jets! Shelton & Powell are the burners of the '13 class.

Really think he could end up being special like you hinted.

Wasn't he injured at some point during the season or had some other factor limiting his game time early in his senior season?

  • He is a stud. He will be a big time player for us. Defensive Backs from Ohio recruited by Coach D, as juniors/sophomores no less, will be players. Irrespective of the stars or what these services say, this is one position from the one state that our staff knows better than....well anyone.
