he is a lock for as a top50 player. Pitt has a lot of advantages to land Foster.

  • Central Valley Lost to the Montour Spartans in the WPIAL semis

It also left the secondary with a lot of single coverage against Central Valley star junior Robert Foster, arguably one of the top wide receivers in the country. But cornerback Devin Wilson limited Foster's big plays, keeping Foster to 91 yards on nine catches.

Central Valley was aggressive in its play-calling in the first half, going for it five times on fourth down -- including two fake punts, both runs by Foster. Even so, the sensational junior wide receiver gained only 37 yards of offense in the half.

Central Valley is in Beaver county north of Pittsburgh. By my unscientific observation Beaver county players have a strong affinity to stay local and go to Pitt. Rushel Shell, considered the top local player from last seson is from Hopewell in Beaver county.

  • Central Valley's Foster displays skills, humility
    By Kevin Gorman, PITTSBURGH TRIBUNE-REVIEW
    Sunday, February 26, 2012

Robert Foster has been named the No. 1 prospect in Pennsylvania and top receiver in the nation by and received an invitation Wednesday to play in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl.

The Central Valley junior recently received a scholarship offer from BCS national champion Alabama, to go along with offers from Atlantic Coast, Big East, Big Ten, Big 12, Pac 12 and Southeastern conference schools.

Earlier this month, however, Foster spent time in the company of Ohio State's Urban Meyer and Penn State's Bill O'Brien for junior days. Seeing their campuses made him reconsider whether he wants to stay close to home or go away for college, giving Pitt some serious competition for his services.

"Once I got to (visit) Ohio State and Penn State, I felt maybe I should go somewhere far," Foster said. "You can't stay home forever. You've got to enjoy your life, grow up and become a man. I just want to go somewhere where I feel like I'm at Central Valley, like I'm at home and have a lot of people love me."

Well if he comes to state next weekend with D. Cox he will be "far(ish) from home, and if the izzone gets a foster chant going "a lot of people will love him". Hopefully Demetrius will get in his ear and actually get him to come with him.

EDIT: speaking of that, does anyone know if Foster has said anything about coming up for the OSU recently?

    GCC leaves no doubt

    Thursday, March 15, 2012

This time, the drama between Greensburg Central Catholic and Jeannette was over in a hurry.

P.J. McLaughlin scored 27 points, and Ben Klimchock added 21 to lead GCC to a 86-65 victory in a rare PIAA playoff game between WPIAL Class AA section rivals Wednesday night at Hempfield.

Demetrious Cox led Jeannette (17-9) with 19 points, and Orlando Morgan added 16.

Penn State Recruiting: Top 5 in-state targets still on the board
Mar 15th at 6:42 am by Tim Tolley

When Bill O’Brien was hired, he said that he wanted to recruit the state of Pennsylvania heavily and get the core of the team from within a “300 mile radius.” Last Friday, O’Brien took a step in the right direction, landing 5 star tight end, Adam Breneman from central Pa. Of the 4 commitments Penn State has, Adam is the only one from in the state.

Who are the 5 MOST IMPORTANT Penn State recruits left on the board? I’m glad you asked!

    3. WR Robert Foster
Before you rob me of my credibility over this, hear me out. Yes, Foster is a 5 star WR with NFL skills and is considered one of the top WRs in the country, as well as the top player in the state. However, with Adam Breneman already in the class and WR Ryan Switzer likely headed in the same direction, a receiving target isn’t as much of a NEED to Penn State as some other positions.

  • Don't like the sound of that, all 3 of the guys you posted updates about would be great for MSU. Sounds like they are at the top of the list for PSU as well.

Probably Mark Staten. He recruits Western PA, and visited Tyler Boyd yesterday who also lives in the Pittsburgh area.

Unless he comes in as a Freshman and lights it up, I think he is more of a weapon for Cook, O'Connor, or Terry to have to throw to.

Doubt that someone like Foster would redshirt but yeah there are a lot of talented WRs in front of him.

yeah, we are deep and talented, but this kid is on another level. If he comes to MSU, he will get some playing time. Just like when C. Rogers came in his first year, he would have started his freshman year. But couldn't cause of grades.

I heard something similar. Alabama is very high on his list even if OSU has backed off for whatever reason. But, as is the case with anybody, if MSU gets them on campus they have a shot. I saw that Damion Terry hit him up on twitter last night too. Not sure if they know each other or not.
