His highlight reel is pretty impressive. I figured this recruit would blow up awhile ago.
Who is his QB? That kid didn't look to shabby either. He seemed to have a pretty big arm on some of those deep throws.

Some quick comments from Jay Harris on his commitment to Michigan State via Lions247's Sean Fitz to hold you over. Sean Scherer is currently talking to Jay.
"I just committed to Michigan State," said Harris. "Just from the first day I went up there I had a great feeling about it. I got a good feel for the coaching staff, the atmosphere. They have a great education system up there. They have a great business school and that's what I want to go into. It just all clicked."

"I just got off the phone with Coach D about a half-hour ago I guess," he said. "I just called him up and he got my grades and everything. He asked me if I was still ready to make this official, then we can make this official. I said I was more than ready to commit. They're real excited about me, they have big plans for me and big expectations."

You can tell MSU is putting a premium on special teams; Hill, Kings, Sims Jr. and now Harris. Those "AP" players can really take a good offense and make it great. Great pick-up for MSU, who pulls another PA kid in.
Michigan State does not and will not run the 3-4 defense.

Completely agree. We are becoming Va. Tech ish in terms of special teams.
This kid obviously didnt have a lot of big time offers but I don't think there are many people out there that question MD's eye for talent..cant wait to see what this kid can do.

Rivals is reporting we beat Penn St. amongst others for Harris.

Here is my analysis of Jay Harris :
WR Jay Harris (5'-10.5", 172 lbs.) - Spartan fans are going to love this kid. He is a tough, fast, sturdy, compact runner who breaks a lot of tackles despite his size. He is elusive in the open field and he can shift gears and cut on a dime (reminds me a little of Eric Allen that way). He has excellent ball skills as a WR and can track down the deep ball when it's in the air. He is not afraid to go over the middle and make tough catches in traffic and he will fight for extra yardage. He is fearless as a KO and Punt Returner and can break long returns. He is a big play looking for a place to happen. He is already a fairly polished receiver. He may be red-shirted.

According to his coach, Harris had "legit" offers from PSU, Pitt, Rutgers, and others.

Coaches have been known to inflate interest and offers at times. Not sure if it's a 100% credible source. In any case, tape speaks more than anything else, and his tape definitely looks good.
