Tore his ACL this year so he didn't play. his dad played TE for the packers. He showed up to camp at MSU and he wow-ed the coaches

FWIW, reports from MSU's camp last week were very favorable for him. I think this will be one of those offers/commits where it happens so fast and you don't see it coming but he ends up being a great player for the G&W. He at least has a good gene pool to work with. I'm glad MSU is taking a TE in this class. It can be debated whether or not MSU needed one, but IMO I think they did. This won't bump MSU "rankings" but I think in a few years this dude will be making some contributions.

Similar to Evan Jones then. He would have to fill out a lot more than Jones though without losing any athleticism.

The staff definitely likes to offer TEs out of camp. I believe this same thing happened the last two years with Hoebing and Lang.

If our coaches evaluated and offered he should get 3 stars even with no junior film. Could have a huge senior year and be one of our best prospects. His dad was superman in green bay. This is really exciting even without any highlights to pour over.

He's going to be a good player. In a normal year he would have had a Wisconsin offer already but they are so tight on scholarships this year and already have the youngest of the Watt brothers committed to play TE so a gray-shirt was the most they could offer. I think he'll be a good one for you guys, certainly has the genetics.
