Why are you surprised when the article came from an Iowa writer? He probably said some things about Iowa that the writer chose to omit. Even so, I didn't think what he said was that bad. He said we sucked, which we did, but he said we are on the rise and will always be there. Decent stuff IMO.

I thought it was odd, not damaging to our position in his recruitment. I agree he said some good things too. Over on the Iowa board the thought is that he's ours to lose.

Aside from the Bulloughs, we've been swinging at air with "legacy" recruits - Peko, Doran Grant and Kevin Robbins. You could throw Sterling Brown in there as well but I'm not sure how hard Izzo went after him.

I would agree for the most part however;
Doran grant-momma wins most of the time
Peko-not over till its over, coaches stl making a visit
Kevin Robbins- personally, I think he wanted to play TE

brian, and jack, are FIERCE COMPETITORS and all they want to do is WIN.
iowa, to me, is like brians "first girlfriend". they actually offered him as a freshman. had to have made quite an impression on a 14 year old. does that mean thats where he ends up ? not necissarily. imo, wisconsin took a step back with bielma's departure. msu has been nothing but GREAT to him.
i watched brian wrestle today and we talked a little bit, but only about wrestling and leaving tomorrow morning for the bowl game.
GO SPARTANS and lets get a BIG WIN tomorrow !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for clearing that up. He's a pretty gifted prospect and one we certainly want to join his older brother, who appears to be a long term starter. Jack made fewer mistakes than a lot of talented FR would and we hope to get Brian and look forward to the same.

Brian Allen 2012 Highlights OL/DL

Hinsdale Central's superstar lineman Brian Allen was a huge part of the Red Devils success this past season. Contributing on both sides of the ball Allen was selected to the 2012 West Suburban Silver All Conference team. Brian Allen already has a few Big Ten offers and we anticipate more before next season starts. Just a junior this is his second season starting on varsity and he has already made the All State Wrestling team two years in a row.

Not a slight vs B. Allen but we need more big, athletic OTs a lot more than we need another interior O-lineman. I said the same thing about Dawson, Munger and M. Miller.
If McGowan, Higgins, Clark and others develop, we should have good depth at OG.

Best Center in the 2014 class for a reason and this highlight is just another example.

If there's one thing I've learned about college football recruiting, there's no such thing as a "no brainer".
I would be ecstatic with a commitment from B Allen, but there are so many factors involved in the process. Best of luck to the kid wherever he decides to go.
