  • So one visit from the snake and now he's going to visit tOSU and has a lot of interest? WTF is going on here. If this kid decommits after everything he's said I'll have a hard time believing what I hear in these interviews.

  • I guess we need to buckle up on this one. He could end up being the #1 WR in the country. It's gonna be like this till the bitter end if we hang on to him. No sense trippin out about something we can't control. I'm certainly disappointed after hearing he's solid he's going to look around but whatever. I guess we'll get an in depth look at our commited recruit visit policy at MSU.

Urban will fill his head with everything and anything negative he can think of on MSU.

All I can say is they're overrated next season and if even get a little more out of our offense we beat them. They beat us 17-16. Lets not get carried away just yet.

    Sounds made up.

If true, that would be EXTREMELY disheartening. If they can't go hard after a blue-chipper in their own backyard, you have to ask what the hell are they doing over there in E. Lansing?

  • Hopefully Drake and his family look a little deeper into what kind of person Urban Meyer is.

Exactly, that is the confusing/frustrating part.

This was straight from GRC's coaches mouths last week.

    Self Deleted.

Hmmm, I'd like to know which coaches at GRC you were talking to.

Looking at dainsuranceman's signature, I would guess whichever coach is the biggest UM fan.

UM troll is out of the picture.

Guys, I'd like to remind everyone that the thread should be kept to fact updates only. Speculation/opposing coach bashing should all go in the 2014 Recruiting thread. Sorry for the nukes, but I'd like to keep these threads as panic-free as possible.

Michigan State does not and will not run the 3-4 defense.

  • Drake,

Just know that MSU supports you, and hope to see you donning the Green and White in the end.

  • "So right now, he’s still committed to State and that’s what it is," Mr. Harris said. "The question is, right now, is he going to do both? And if it’s just one, and it is football, I would say that he’s definitely going to look at every option, but still, State’s there. He’s still got that commitment to them, but he still wants to go and just see. Any kid, you have one time that you have this process that you go through, so why wouldn’t you want to take advantage of it?"

After an outstanding year on the gridiron, one where he was the integral part of his team's state title, Harris is becoming increasingly sure his future is in football.

"From the beginning the reason why I committed to State was because I was playing two sports and I wanted to play for Izzo. If I was just playing basketball, I wouldn’t be looking at any other schools, but I kind of want to focus on football and just playing football and that’s why. I mean, I’m still committed to State and everything, but I want to open my recruiting back up."

When asked if he was still deciding between the two sports, Harris said, "No, I’m for sure just going to play football."

Visits appear likely to happen, but nothing is set in stone yet.

"Man, we haven’t set anything up yet," Mr. Harris explained. "People come out and say this stuff. They quoted Drake saying that and I don’t even think Drake said that. I mean, of course they want us to come down and visit."

"I don’t have any visits set yet," Drake echoed, but when asked which schools he may look at for football, he responded with: "Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Florida, Alabama, Georgia and Florida State."

With the returning receivers plus Madaris & Kilgore, I'm not sure the loss of a WR, even the #1 WR in the country will hurt as much as losing him in the 2014 group of bball recruits...it isn't surprising that a kid who wants to play football only wants to look at football dominant schools...I do hope though that Dantonio doesn't pull a Hoke and play things like Hoke did with Dawson, if the policy is pulling the offer with other visits then stick with it, otherwise, Dantonio isn't any different from Hoke

  • That's not good. Despite what he says, I think it's fair to believe he's not committed at this point.

  • Ya reading that there shows he isn't coming to MSU period. "State's still there". "Right now'. We've seen this before might be smart for the staff to focus on trying to get Booth or Snoedgrass. Harris isn't coming here guys we need to accept it. But plenty of other options and to be honest it's so early in the process we should be thankful he blew up now and not end of senior year where we would have held his spot.

I was wondering why someone would only have two stars. And then look at that.

Yep I was thinking the same thing earlier today. What a twist that has become.

It was mentioned in an article back when Drake first committed that Izzo told him it would be a good idea to play football and not to worry about injury.

I remember the story, but not where i heard it. Izzo was recruiting him for basketball and attended one of his football games where he saw how special he was. Pretty much told Dantonio (i'm sure he already knew) and convinced him to give both a try in college.
