From the little that I just looked up on him, he looks good. As of now, what do you see our chances as? Pretty high since we're one of his early offers?

being a Cass Tech Kid, and a Kid Michigan also offered yesterday he is a big UM Lean.

  • that's what UM fans are saying - Webb told Rico Beard months ago that he thought MSU had awesome WR tradition and that he DID NOT grow up a UM fan. He recently transfered into Cass Tech, so he hasn't necessarily been complete indoctrinated into the cult, yet. However, he has likely been getting a ton of face time with UM people and ZERO face time with MSU people, so I'm not very confident about MSU's chances.

Just gotta hope that some of our WR's show up this year.

Surely his coach will be pushing them at UM. I think if Maxwell has a good year, we can try to use that angle of having an established QB program as opposed to the mere prospect of success at UM with a transitioning offense and questionmarks at QB (after denard is gone).

That is the 14' LB from Cass Tech, IIRC.

What will help MSU is flipping Delano Hill if the staff deems it a necessary move and brigning Finley into the fold. That's a nice start to the healing process.
On another note, speaking of Hosey, why would anyone leave Harrison for Cass? FHH blew them out 43-7 and was nationally ranked for a good bit of the season. Wait, with that in mind, why do we pine over these um hitler youth anyways? Shouldn't we be more focused on keeping those guys out of FHH?

Not sure if serious.. Wilcher wouldn't let Hill flip even if he wanted to and with the kids Cass has sent to Iowa recently, chances are slim. That's starting to be a nice little pipeline for Iowa.

Finley recently said on Rivals that Illinois was his leader, which is a joke. His family has some Green, but it's still an uphill battle and that's sad. If he has an Ohio State offer then it's understandable, but a first year MAC staff at Illinois? Puzzling at best.

This isn't speculation. It's a proven track record at Cass that can be seen year after year. Send the best prospects to Michigan, funnel the B and Cs to Big Ten schools, but places which aren't long-term threats to Michigan (Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, etc.) and continue to play State like fools. Important to keep the offers going to these kids, but in terms of actively recruiting them.. well.. I don't really see the point.

That is part of the story... QB gets hurt, QB2 takes over and team wins State Championship are also part of the story. What happened to FHH??

Finley made those comments prior to his big week and at the time Illinois was his best offer, no surprise there. There was a very brief article available from someone's twitter last week on Hill. The jist of it was that he made mention to said analyst that he was really open to picking up the B1G offer he wanted all along. They hinted it was MSU and it sounded like he was receptive to making a change in his commitment. Not my opinion, it came from elsewhere.

So he committed before coming up to camp for one?

    Doesn't make sense.

He headed to our Junior day over the winter with the mindset he was getting an offer and would commit to MSU on the spot. A high school team mate at Iowa leaked it over twitter after speaking with him. It set off a little interest storm but no offer at our Junior day. Iowa became his best offer and he commited. At SMSM Narduzzi was said to be all over him and they even used the term "watched Hill like a hawk". He made a comment about picking up an MSU offer that set off a resurgence in interest on his part.

    Skip1856

  • there was a miscommunication with MSU coaches - Hill expected to get offered when he visited MSU; he planned to commit on the spot. However, he was not offered.

  • “I don’t think I’d commit,” Webb said of his upcoming trip. “It’s a possibility but I don’t think I’ll commit this soon.”
This doesn't sound all that promising for us. We've got a lot of ground to make up on this one.

    Skip1856

  • Cass Tech, go figure. I wish we had at least offered him before Scum, but I know it probably would not have mattered. Hopefully we can pull in Finley and he could help us out in recruiting him. Doubtful on both counts actually.

    Jizzy2323

  • I think Webb will look at all his options academics, dep-chart etc. It probably will be UM or MSU.
