I was thinking the same thing. This reads like this guy is a his high school girlfriend.
Wow, kind of a dick move by his HS HC considering we've been pretty good to his kids over the last 5 years.
Doesn't it feel like people are making a lot of this shit up?
The real question is, 'how is his floor game?'
Awesome. You are the best poster on this board.
All I can say is welcome to the family Monty, I'm going to be rooting for you.
Thanks for the insight. Sounds like MSU will be perefect for Monty. We are family!
The moment is eternal
Was his HC really telling him he was too good for MSU or was that a bit of a stretch? Greg Jones and Marcus Rush coming here doesn't make that seem too likely.
This is the only part of the story that I question. However the quotes from his coach last night shed a bit more light on the coaches character. Negatively
I don't know Monty personally except for talking to him briefly after one of his games.
I do know one of the Moeller Asst. Coaches and I know another person who is very close to the Moeller football program.
They have kept me informed about Monty's recruitment for awhile .
I've been to Moeller a couple of times to see Monty play this year.
You don't know anything about anything. STFU.
Exactly! In the end, no matter how his career ends up he will find that the MSU coaching staff and his teammates will be his family, not because they want to cash in on his playing career but because of who he is. I have a feeling this kid is going to make these people eat their words.
"I was a little frustrated at his inability to get his letter in on time."
You know that the was the FIRST DAY TO SIGN, RIGHT?
UM, Green Bay and Chicago teams all have one thing in common: They all suck
so you've been stalking him on-line and feel like that gives you some extra insight to add to that provided by people who actually know other humans and interact with them. how quaint.
thanks for the great write up. very insightful. I feel bad that these kids that have so much pressure from people who may only be thinking about themselves
John Rodenberg was not the HC at Moeller when Greg Jones was there. Rodenberg came to Moeller in 2008. He has always been known as an O$U supporter and a UK supporter as well.
Remember when Monty was thinking about visiting UK and both MSU and UC told Monty they would rescind his offer if he visited UK. That planned visit to UK was influenced by Rodenberg.
I do know for sure that Rodenberg was telling Monty to wait for an O$U offer. His other advisors were telling him he was too good to play for MSU. Can't necessarily attribute that part to Rodenberg.
Rodenberg has a big ego and often comes off as a jerk.
Just like he knew he faxed in his LOI on Wednesday.
By reading internet rumors.
The level that people go to, to try and present themselves as insiders is pretty hilarious.

Congrats Monty and welcome aboard. Forget football for a second. You couldn't have picked a better coach to help you grow into becoming a man. And BTW, MSU hasn't been too shabby on the grid iron either - they have more B1G wins than any other program over the last four years. They have competed for a conference championship or had a share of it the past two seasons. Don't let others fool you about who has been the most successful team recently, and welcome to East Lansing.

Why won't the wins/losses spreadsheet load?

This makes me want to bring a "we love MM" sign to the games next year, lol. I'm REALLY excited that he decided to join the MSU family. He should be embraced here and I hope he builds himself a solid future. He has already proven he has the character to do so if this stuff is true because he had to stand up as a man and CHOOSE this future for himself. All the credit in the world to him. He will have an excellent degree, free schooling, and a chance at a great future because of it.
My new Spartan.
Here was my analysis of Monty after he gave his verbal to MSU :
WR Monty Madaris (6'-2", 190 lbs.) - Big, fast, athletic receiver in the B. J. Cunningham mold but faster than B. J. and further along in his development as a WR than B. J. was when he was in HS. Monty may not have a great forty time but his forte is his long speed (think Kirk Gibson here). The farther he runs the faster he gets which allows him to eat up a DB's cushion very quickly and beat them deep. He has excellent hands, good body control and will make the tough catch over the middle. He is nifty in the open field and with his size, he can break tackles from smaller DB's. He has excellent awareness locating the deep ball in the air showing good hand-eye coordination which is one of his strengths as a receiver. He will be a major deep threat as a WR. As a Sr. he caught 56 passes for 1,137 yds. (20.3 ypc) and 16 TD's. He also ran the ball out of the Wildcat formation, rushing for 280 yds. and 2 TD's. If he works hard and can learn the offense quickly enough he could contribute as a true Fr. Actually, just split him out wide and let Andrew Maxwell air it out to him on go patterns down the sideline. Andrew thows as nice a deep ball as you will ever see and Monty will track it down. Not a difficult call for an OC with that combination, LOL.
It is 100% true, that's all you need to know.
Dr Opti, providing wisdom;one message at a time.
Nope, i did read he faxed in his LOI off a rumor from Helmholdt, quoting his coach.
The other stuff was different, that's all I'll say, but i am done with this subject.
