Can't get my hopes up for an IL prospect.
We're his best offer though.
Not as long as Roushar continues to come up empty in the state.

Cool, according to two posts above you, the same thing was reported as well. But yeah, once I look at his profile and see who his main recruiter is...a one Danny Roushar, I'll count this one as a long shot. Sorry, I'll be happy to eat crow if I am proven wrong though.
I'd love to start pulling recruits out of Illinois. The wiffs on guys like Bosch, Pocic and Johnson tell me tell me that it's not in the cards though. It seems like we should be able to build a pipeline there being that Chicago is so close to East Lansing. But it's not happening.
2013 Glen Ellyn (Ill.) Glenbard West junior defensive end Ruben Dunbar holds several early offers and visited Michigan State over the weekend.
Kid looks STRONG. Tackles and whips guys to the ground like Marcus Rush. Aggressive style, like he said. Nice bull rush.
He'd fit in well at MSU. With my untrained eye, I watched his video right after another viewing of Sevon Pittman, and concluded there really isn't much difference. Sevon has a little more size at the moment, but in terms of disruptiveness -- I don't see a difference.
Difference may be level of competition.
Class of 2010
MSU's treatment of Arthur Ray, Boisture, Barrent, etc. and all the guys who have stayed on schollie despite an injury really shows you how much this staff cares about their players. Glad to see a recruit appreciate that.
Michigan State does not and will not run the 3-4 defense.
He attends the same high school that produced former four star recruits DL Tommy Schutt (2012 Ohio State), OL Chris Watt (2009 Notre Dame), OL Jordan Walsh (2011 Iowa).
He is already 250lbs is there a chance he grows into a tackle?
Saw him play with the other Hilltoppers mentioned above last year and I couldn't believe he was as a Jr. Thought he was the best player on the field that day. Very quick, strong, etc.
He went hard every play unlike Schutt who took numerous plays off and fatigued easily that day.
Are he and Branden Dawson twins??? Looks just like him in that picture.
Good question but I doubt it, Ruben offers a unique opportunity to add thirty pounds or more of muscle mass or lean weight. This guy can be built like our boy William Too Tall Gholston. Obviously not in terms of height, but Ruben is quick and built to be a DE.
Get him in the hands of Mannie, and the B1G better watch out. His film is impressive.
"Stats are for Losers." - Pat "Nardawg" Narduzzi
Saw that game too, hands down the best player on the field in that game. He looked better than Schutt which is something to be said.
I think both this kid and the other one we just offered, Tracy Sprinkle look to have the quicks to play on the edge, as well as the frame to put on about 30 lbs of good weight and slide inside as well.
I was going to say that when they posted this article a couple days ago but the comments were disabled for some reason. Crazy!
Interesting... Dunbar named MSU his leader 31JULY.
Soufflé, I'm straight, I scrape my plate/,Sade, I'm a smooth operator... I DROP TOP MY WHIP!
Roushar swinging a hot bat
Does anyone know why Dunbar fell like a rock in the 247 rankings? He was originally a 94**** and is now down to a 85***. I am not one for stars, but just wondering if anything in particular led to his dropoff.
Dont think he went to any camps, thats prob why he fell
