Brady Joke strikes again. He reneged on his policy so he wouldn't lose out on the pipeline from Cass. Think about it, if he let's dawson commit to MSU, that would mean Finley, Drake and Dawson would be able to leverage prospects from Cass for years to come. I think Hoke is only looking to the future, because if he scores dawson that would mean he has an even better shot at the true prize in 14' Damon Webb, 15' RB Michael Weber and 15' QB Jayru Campbell. Hoke is swallowing his pride on this one and begging Dawson back for the sake of the program.
Come to MSU David, we'll never leave you in the dust like scUM

For what it's worth, Matt Charboneau said on the radio today that his sources said that despite the Michigan reoffer and planned visit, it's still between MSU and OSU for Dawson.
I like that.
As much as I want him at OSU, I would be ok with him at MSU and not UM.
Is Matt held in high regard?
Not for recruiting. Typically he only says something along the lines of "I cannot predict the decisions of teenagers".
He seems to be a pretty good source and he's a decent writer. He's the Detroit News MSU beat writer so you have to think he doesn't just spout off. Anyone more informed have an opinion on Charboneau?
He also said that MSU fans need not worry about Finley and Drake's committments, they are solid.
I think this might be a case of Hoke trying to stem a growing trend with Cass Tech and maybe even Detroit recruits. If Dawson goes Green, we'll have 3 guys in the ears of all of the top prospects from Cass Tech and beyond.
Alright, so just as reminder, unsubstantiated rumors get deleted, along with the conversation that goes along with that.
Shrew, you were given over 2 hours to cite a source. None was provided, so the post was deleted. PM me if you have any questions. Guys, sorry I nuked all your posts, just SOP ( I nuked my own that quoted him too).
Michigan State does not and will not run the 3-4 defense.
The fact that he usually doesn't comment on recruiting, but did this time, would indicate to me he's relatively confident in his source.
FYI, Charboneau was on Bakita and Bentley (AM 1230) here in West Michigan this morning when I heard him say what he said about Dawson on my way into work a little after 8 am.
Just to clarify the "unsubstantiated rumor", ESPN now has had three separate reporters with direct interviews with Dawson where he names his top three. Happy to post links, but it is premium info so only subscribers have access. I'm not a subscriber, but do know what David has been telling reporters recently.
I hear that Jabari Parker may have some things regarding MSU, but I can't tell you what they are
Just saw a tweet from a writer from tos that Dawson is rescheduling his OSU visit. Can't read the conflict. Wonder if any UofM favors are coming in to play, regardless that makes things look really good for them.
I just hope he remembers how badly he was treated during his recruitment. Those people will turn on him just as bad if he suffers an injury or other hardships during his career.
Hope he waits his recruitment out and gives MSU a fair shake to show him what being a spartandawg is all about.
Conflict with his ACT test.
This is a flat out lie.
Provide a link.
laconophilia is everywhere...
Thanks for the info
In the future, start posts like that with "There's some premium info on ESPN where Recruit X says Y". Just tell us where you're getting it from; we've got plenty of posters with ESPN accounts that can verify and we certainly do appreciate the synopsis.
It's just that whenever I see something that would be considered negative about an MSU target coming from a poster with a very low post count who's not VIP on here, and who won't cite his sources, it trips all sorts of alarm bells.
It looks like you're not really a troll, just someone who's not too familiar with our board. Feel free to PM me with any questions.
I'm more skeptical. I can't find any of these mythical articles he is talking about.
Alabama's ESPN site has the most recent one.
I couldn't cite ESPN as the source earlier because the reporters that interviewed Dawson had not yet posted the stories. Now they have. I'll sit on things in the future until they have hit at least one outlet.
The only thing I would say is that espn is the worst at writing articles pandoring to the perceived big programs. They've got about 10 articles about David and not a single one mentions him naming MSU the leader two weeks ago. It's pretty bogus in my book. Not discrediting you at all shrew. Just saying espn is potentially not the best source. However, I've been wrong before.
Well, you're exonerated.
I am skeptical of the article though. It suggests Alabama, OSU, and UM have the advantage, but it doesn't include any Dawson quotes that suggest this. Whenever surprising or game changing news is reported, direct quotes that demonstrate it should be included.
I believe all 3 of the supposed top 3 have espn nation fan sites correct? It would be shocking, not impossible, but shocking to see us go from first to 4th in a 10 day stretch.
What's your take on this Sean?
iirc, during the Gholston recruitment ESPN didn't even show MSU on his page. I think it was a top five of Florida, Alabama, Michigan, Ohio State, and someone else I forgot. Maybe USC or something.
ESPN absolutely panders "to the big boys". Not saying he won't end up at UM or OSU, just saying that they have a reputation for excluding any news concerning less glamorous suitors.
