With Munger grabbing the spot at OSU, it looks like it is a scUM vs MSU battle. Need for Dawson to tighten up and resist the demand to commit on the spot.
I was thinking the same but he commited as a DT
I'm pretty sure OSU will play him on offense.
If he is going to end up at um(most Likely) its probably better that he does it sooner rather than later. This would give us more time to pursue other options and not get left taking a flier on some unknown.
Doubt there will be other options. Before Dawson's decommitment, there weren't any OL that we were looking at. Probably just bank the scholarship for 2014 or go after another position.

May be a long shot, but I hope we pursue Knevel if Dawson doesn't work out.
That having been said, Dawson would probably be the best OL we've landed in a long time. So he's obviously the easy first choice.
laconophilia is everywhere...
Agree. Knevel seems to have played well this year. Believe just got a Bama offer. And know he holds a Wisky one
Yeah Dawson would be a good get. We need to go all out and get him!

I assume this means Go Blue, Buckeye Nation, and Roll Tide? No good.
I learned a long time ago to not give much, if any, consideration to tweets from recruits.
Michigan State does not and will not run the 3-4 defense.
That's a mistake.
I wouldn't even know what that tweet meant anyway...
In my opinion, going from first to fourth in less than a month would be an absolute failure by this staff.
If ya ain't first, you're last.
(But seriously, it applies to recruiting...)
I get what you're saying but this board would be going crazy if the only tag was something about Michigan state. Can't have it both ways. Have to report both and make judgement from there. My bigger question would be if that actually means what the first translation was.
This kid is really dramatic. Is he really going to be worth it? I don't like how he used one of our scholarships to prove a point. I understand we really want to get in with the Cass Tech folks, but I think we have a lot better chance of proving what we can do with Drake and Finley.
Really, you're blaming the coaching staff for this? Dawson changed his entire list around that does not mean the coaches didn't recruit him hard enough or blew it here as soon as he was not committed to Michigan anymore the staff was all over him.
It sucks but throwing the recruiting staff under the bus is not fair.
MSU gave it a shot and I'm sure it was a solid one. Different things will resonate with different kids. If MSU really is behind those big three it's probably because one or more of the excellent recruiters on those 3 big name teams negatively recruited Dawson on MSU and it resonated with Dawson for what ever reason. If all 3 schools took the same angle on convincing Dawson MSU wasn't an ideal place for him (and we can guess what that angle was) then it would be more likely to resonate.
But for all we actually know Dawson still likes MSU. We won't truly know until he signs a letter.
Forget it SF, it's skippytown.
Not only that, but Dawson is a Cass Tech kid. We got one whose sister is a student at State (and one of his teammates from the next class?), but that isn't a school that's sent more that a few kids to MSU while Wilcher's been there.
Skippy just loves to bitch about recruiting by the staff, then jump down your throat if you state the obvious re: MSU's O.
All logic and reason leaves when you enter Skippytown.
Two more than before those guys dropped. Add to Moss, Maples, Collins, and Patrick Ford (bball). As St. Nick would say, it is a process.
