They're both very good. If the staff will take either at this point then I'm happy with either.
Ohio defensive back was on campus yesterday ...
I'm very sorry if this is taking it off topic and mods feel free to delete if it is.
Duffy: Do you think there is anyway possible we would have room/make room for Williams, Allen and Warfield? I want all three and I think our depth at WR is a lot better than at DB these days. Especially for last years class.
I agree it would be awesome to have all three of them but again, It doesn't seem like we've got the ships to do it. Every one of those guys you named are guys we would take.
Not CBD, but yes, I think MSU would have room for all 3 of those guys you mentioned. We know they want 2 more DBs (1 S, 1 CB)....and Williams doesn't count against that. By taking Williams, I think that means the staff won't take another OLB in this class....but I'm confident they would still take Allen along with a CB (whether that be Warfield, Hicks, Mosley, etc.).
Greg mattison visited him yesterday.
The news bit failed to mention whether or not he compared him to ed reed.
He told him he looked like a michigan man.
So in other words he told him he looked like he had his head up his ass?
So is Michigan slow-playing him like O$U?
“Michigan would be extremely high on my list if they were to offer,” said Hicks. “I have been to Michigan before, and I know they have the best in both football and academics so it’s really the total package.”
Hicks also wants to camp at two other programs this summer.
“I’m going to go to Ohio State and Michigan State too,” said Hicks. “Michigan State has already offered and they are up there on my list. Ohio State, I believe I could still earn an offer there.”
From an article on the scUM site. Not great comments from our perspective.
Was that article recent? He made those same comments in an article from a few months ago. It was over a 10 day period when he basically named 3 favorites in a short time span. He had visited us and named us a favorite, then heard a bunch of interest from um and Penn State and named them both favorites too. I think those comments may be from that January/February interview.
Current article on scUM247
Hicks is going to camp at UM to try and earn an offer.
Virginia just offered him a scholarship
That article makes it sound like he really wants to go to UM or tOSU. MSU is a safety school for him
MSU always seem to be the safety school for Ohio recruits, it's always between osu and michigan for the top recruits in Ohio. Every Ohio player that comes to MSU is only because OSU and Michigan didn't want them.
Every player huh?
He has never sounded like he particularly wanted to be here.
I think he likes MSU, he just likes the thought of having the option to go to UM or OSU more.
MSU seems to be his plan b school. I'm cool with that as long as those other two don't offer him.
Class of 2010
Yeah, you're right.
Monty Madaris and Shane Jones
Well, not that I necessarily agree with that, but Monty and Shane both did not hold OSU offers.
I'm not turned off by it at all. Probably all of our great Ohio players would have ditched us for an OSU offer. Some of them would have ditched us with a UM offer or would have gone there if Hoke had been the one recruiting them. As long as they don't do what Pittman did and screw us over with other players lower on the board, it's nothing to take personally. They'll be die-hard Spartans once they get on campus, no matter the circumstances.
I can certainly understand the kid wanting and holding out for the home state Buckeyes, but holding out for scuM is a tad annoying.
I have always said you can build a championship team from the guys OSU doesn't offer- just have to out evaluate them on the kids.
Hicks seems to want his dream school OSU and if it doesn't come then he wants his dream schools arch enemy???
Hopefully kid starts to see the Green guys as the best option.
