Thanks. Guess I just got excited typing all those A's, LOL.
Some people seem to be pretty angry at our staff that Delton didn't commit last week...but doesn't this seem plausible...?....
Delton is interested in MSU, but would be much more so if his good buddy Damion Terry goes there. He's got to wait until the coaches watch Damion throw on the 16th to see if they extend an offer. If they do and Damion commits...Delton has a much more likely chance of committing. He didn't want to commit and then see Damion not get an offer.
I know that's just pure speculation, but I think it's rather logical. Frankly, we never know anything about what is really going through a kid's head...
Always? Our coaches are putting together a great class. Other than Pittman we haven't had any problems. Other guys that never made it to MSU... McCall, Onaje Miller... Worked out well for us.
I agree with you that it's frustrating that we hear great things about a visit, but there isn't a verbal. But I do think the recruiting by the current staff has been very good overall

Once again I think MD's low pressure approach works quite well. It is appreciated by both the players and their families and separates MSU from the rest of the pack.

any new info on him today?
Not yet, I believe he took part in Terry's Passing showcase today. So if that much is true, he at least spent time with the staff. Landing Damien has put MSU in a prime position with Delton.

Are they a known package deal? and yes I realize a lot of times when recruits say they are they don't end up signing with the same school. Just wondering.
Offered by Nebraska
Erie (Pa.) Cathedral Prep athlete Delton Williams already has a nice offer list in hand, and continued to add to his total this week with three more scholarships.
Thoughts on the Nebraska offer and Williams' interest, Spartans?
I'm not all that informed on this but I would have to say that we are his leader. He has been high on us for a long time, and his teammate just committed.
I think he's pretty up there with PSU, too. I had heard that they were the team to beat.
Not so sure we don't lead. If you read the interview on the front page, seems to be plenty interested in MSU and seems to intentionally try to downplay it.
He is scheduled to attend our Spring Game...as is Terry. I have to imagine that will help the cause.
when he made the "brother" quote that pretty much assured me he will be going green! and the "we have talked about it since ninth grade" seals it..
Helps validate his status as a solid player. Don't know what their odds are for him, especially coming in this late to the party, but they're by all means a respectable program and it buffs his offer list to see them on there.
No question there. I would imagine a strong weekend for Williams will lock it up.
Congrats on that commitment, by the way. I had seen that earlier in the week but I hadn't yet read up on Williams. Once I connected the dots, I didn't feel half as optimistic about our odds as before.
I haven't seen the exact quote you're talking about but if they've been talking about it for so long, I doubt Terry would so quickly favor MSU if Williams didn't have a high likelihood of coming here. IMO, if any other school were the favorite, Terry and Williams would likely still be talking about this and we wouldn't have Terry's commitment yet. Our odds are good here. Interesting that the NU offer moved them up to "Warmer" though.
Also, just took a look at Delton's 247 profile... yet another player with a great offer list but a generic 3-star, 85 rating on 247. I swear, I'd rather them just not provide a rating on players until they take a closer look. With how much BS is involved in the star system, all I really care about is the offer list and interest list, which 247 has been good at updating.
Once Williams visits Lincoln and sees what most consider to be the best facilities in all of college football, reeling him in to be a future Nebraska Husker will get a whole lot easier. GO BIG RED !
You shut your mouth.
It's widely recognized Nebraska has great facilities but go online and google the Skandalaris/Duffy Daugherty football center. We just re-opened it a few years ago with a newly renovated indoor facility. It's absolutely state of the art. We're also about to renovate the locker rooms as well. Michigan just spent $245million on renovations. Wisconsin is doing the same as we speak. For gods sake, Indiana just renovated their facility and opened a new indoor site.
Right, plus he's already been to Penn State. So husker fans would be delusional to think that Williams would be awestruck by their facilities -- instead, it would be "Oh, they've got nice facilities too."
When asked if he has any leaders, he listed his top 3 as MSU, PSU, and Nebraska, which is why Nebraska has been moved up to "Warmer" along with MSU and PSU.
When he answered, however, he made MSU stand out in the way he listed them. Something like, "Definitely MSU" before listing the other two also. Just fyi. If I were running his list, I would probably list all of his other offers as "Cool", Nebraska as "Warm", and MSU/PSU as "Warmer".
laconophilia is everywhere...
"With Damion committing, it made it look even better for Michigan State," he said. "He's like a brother to me, I go right off of his butt every play, me and him going to the same college - living together, his mom and my mom are real close - things would go well if I were to go with him there."
