His highlight reel is pretty impressive. I figured this recruit would blow up awhile ago.
Who is his QB? That kid didn't look to shabby either. He seemed to have a pretty big arm on some of those deep throws.
Verbal to Michigan State
Welcome to MSU, Mr. Harris!
Wha?? I thought we werent taking that many WR this year. Now we have 2.
Anyway congrats jay

Some quick comments from Jay Harris on his commitment to Michigan State via Lions247's Sean Fitz to hold you over. Sean Scherer is currently talking to Jay.
"I just committed to Michigan State," said Harris. "Just from the first day I went up there I had a great feeling about it. I got a good feel for the coaching staff, the atmosphere. They have a great education system up there. They have a great business school and that's what I want to go into. It just all clicked."
Will play WR
"I just got off the phone with Coach D about a half-hour ago I guess," he said. "I just called him up and he got my grades and everything. He asked me if I was still ready to make this official, then we can make this official. I said I was more than ready to commit. They're real excited about me, they have big plans for me and big expectations."

The 5-foot-10, 175-pound Harris was recruited by Michigan State return specialist as well as a wide receiver.
Michigan State landed its second 2013 commit of the day and No. 10 overall Monday evening in Exton (Pa.) Downingtown East athlete Jay Harris.
Keshawn pt. 2
You can tell MSU is putting a premium on special teams; Hill, Kings, Sims Jr. and now Harris. Those "AP" players can really take a good offense and make it great. Great pick-up for MSU, who pulls another PA kid in.
Michigan State does not and will not run the 3-4 defense.
Completely agree. We are becoming Va. Tech ish in terms of special teams.
This kid obviously didnt have a lot of big time offers but I don't think there are many people out there that question MD's eye for talent..cant wait to see what this kid can do.
Rivals is reporting we beat Penn St. amongst others for Harris.
We're becoming the Detroit Lions. Take ALL the receivers!
I see your thought process since we are all thinking lineman right now but this kid has a serious case of "quicks" that are gonna get us all excited in Spartan Stadium.
Here is my analysis of Jay Harris :
WR Jay Harris (5'-10.5", 172 lbs.) - Spartan fans are going to love this kid. He is a tough, fast, sturdy, compact runner who breaks a lot of tackles despite his size. He is elusive in the open field and he can shift gears and cut on a dime (reminds me a little of Eric Allen that way). He has excellent ball skills as a WR and can track down the deep ball when it's in the air. He is not afraid to go over the middle and make tough catches in traffic and he will fight for extra yardage. He is fearless as a KO and Punt Returner and can break long returns. He is a big play looking for a place to happen. He is already a fairly polished receiver. He may be red-shirted.

Were academics the reason he didn't have a lot of offers?
According to his coach, Harris had "legit" offers from PSU, Pitt, Rutgers, and others.
Coaches have been known to inflate interest and offers at times. Not sure if it's a 100% credible source. In any case, tape speaks more than anything else, and his tape definitely looks good.
Rivals now gives him PSU, Pitt, Rutgers, Temple, and Maryland
out of this, PSU is the only good school offer.
Haha coming from you.
I could have been a Rhodes Scholar, except for my grades. -Duffy Daugherty
you mean to tell me MD, Temple, rutgers, and pitt are good offers? I guess you and me have a diff POV of what a good football school is
Shut up Calvin, this isn't about you or your stupid little schtick. Go away.
Welcome to MSU, Jay.

You could argue that the new staff at Pitt is doing an excellent job recruiting so far. Draw for Penn kids regardless. And anyway, what the fuck is your point? Your going to insult the kids offer list? You should be happy we landed a playmaker. Have you bothered to watch his film?
Can a mod clean up these posts? We don't need this crap on here
Now with a PhD in Applied Llama Physics...
