'Ole Miss and Mississippi State offered

And just like that, MSU is no longer listed as his favorite.
Where is that?
Could just be the way they add new teams to a guy's list or so. We'll see how it shapes up, but it's nice to see other BCS schools interested in an MSU target.
Michigan State does not and will not run the 3-4 defense.
Yeah, MSU is listed as a favorite again, so I think that it might've just been a mistake. Nothing to see here... I agree about the other part. I definitely think that it makes MSU look better if they can beat out teams like Nebraska, Ole Miss, and Mississippi State. Beating out Toledo, Illinois, and Ball State just isn't going to turn any heads. I thought that he had already visited though. If he's this interested without even having seen a practice or interacted all that much (probably) with the players, I think it's pretty good sign. I still feel fine about MSU's chances, but was merely noting the change in team "rankings".

Looks like he has a nice tape. Seems like a good run-stopper. I like the way he tackles people with an "attitude". I also like the fact that he comes from a powerhouse like Crete. Guys like that are always well-coached and in good shape.
From the Chicago NFTC wrap on the Blue Board
Crete (Ill.) Monee defensive end Chris Slayton has a chance to shoot up the rankings, making a case for himself as the top player at his position in the state. At 6-foot-5, 235-pounds, he has a great frame, is a twitchy player and gets better every time we see him.
From camp MVPs to The Opening invites, 247Sports has you covered on the top performers from Chicagos Nike Football Training Camp including Top50 LB Nyles Morgan.
Wiltfong said that he may end up as the best DE in IL because he's improved quite a bit since they last evaluated him. Given that the #1 DE in the state is rated a 92, I would expect a nice bump for Slayton next ratings (probably up to an 87 or so).
What's the thought here? He's current listed as a WDE, as is Lawrence Marshall. Are we taking two or with his height does he project more to the SDE slot?
And yes, I'm not going to hang it all on LM as a lock given the Watkins development late in that game as well.
Slayton has the frame to get much bigger and stronger. Doesn't matter if it's weak-side DE's or strong-side DE's, MSU really needs edge pass rushers in the 2014 class.
MSU is looking to take 3 DE's in the 2014 class.
Love seeing all these offers pouring in suddenly, we need to get him committed before the BCS powers get a look at this kid.
Don't think it needs to be said (but I will anyway), that a commitment doesn't necessarily mean anything. Interest from schools likely won't be stopped by a non-binding commitment.
True, but it's nice to see MSU once again in on a prospect early before they blow up. I think it means a lot when you're the first big offer for an under-the-radar guy. Kind of like MSU getting in on Terry before he shot up to being a top 10 QB nationally.
His profile only shows cool interest for everybody whats the deal? Are we the favorites still?
They've changed his profile 3 times in the last week. I won't let that profile tool be your guide.
And it seems everytime they add a new offer, it resets to "cool" for everyone. That's what happened with Miss St. offered, then the next day MSU was at very warm or favorite.
OK that's a relief But I see his recruitment taking a while now that he has "Blown up" and has received many big time offers recently. I was Hoping/thinking he could commit soon to MSU but now I see it being a Fight.
