AllenTrieu: Niles Notre Dame (Ill.) RB Chris James says today's #Wisconsin offer changes some things for him. Talks Badgers here: http://t.co/TROKGuWAMn
edit: nevermind, this looks like 247's version of the story right here.
Niles (Ill.) Notre Dame running back Chris James was close to making a college decision. Then Wisconsin offered on Monday. He talks Badgers and more here.

It may make the decision tougher but I don't think they jump into the lead. Most of us saw him commiting in mid-late summer anyway so what's changed, other than it's a top 4 as opposed to a top 3, right?
He's said all along the Wisconsin offer was the one he really coveted.
Yeah, makes me nervous. I considered James a lock, now I think its about even. Our strategy has to be to convince him that the RB factory that was once Wisconsin left with Bielema, and that if he truly loves to run between the tackles as he says, MSU is the place for him.
True, however, if they were an outright favorite he'd have commited if he wanted the offer that badly. For example: Darius West is a friend of Tyler O'Connors, we've been recruiting him for a good bit now, he's wanted an MSU offer, even stated it in interviews with the UK writers. However, we waited it out and he's built relationships with others. The MSU offer is making it tough it sounds like but he's still crystal balled to UK. This is a similar situation IMO. From everything we've heard we're positioned well and lead his current top 3. Add Wisky to the mix and it's a top four with us either #1 or #2 worst case scenario with a visit to try and lock it up. I like those odds.
If not, we may be in bad shape. We never really recruited Wilbon or Horton and have never broken through with Jeff Jones either. Another former top target Gerald Owens has pulled a LT and his weight has skyrocketed to the point we are no longer recruiting him as a RB.
In my mind it's James or bust.
I wouldn't go that far. It's only May someone will get noticed in camp or have a huge senior season. Plenty of time left.
Exactly. Not sure what Anderson is going to run; he's recruiting dual threats and ran a spread at Utah State. I don't fault an RB for wanting to play for the Alvarez/Beilema Wisky, but if I'm James, I hold off until I see what Wisky's offense looks like this fall.
Then again, if he wants to be 100% sure he'll be in a pro-style O, there is a team in East Lansing that rolls that way . . .
Michigan State does not and will not run the 3-4 defense.
Well that's true. That may be a bit of an over statement but we're not currently recruiting anyone else to replace him if he goes another route to my knowledge. But, that's to my knowledge. Maybe the staff has another guy in mind we don't know about.
Jeff Jones said he planned to visit MSU this summer ( i think it was for a camp)
Insert Le'Veon Bell being a Plan Z recruit comment here.
On-topic, I think James takes his time with his recruitment. I think the staff can/will ID another RB if they need to. This one's going to go on for awhile I think though.
I still think MSU is taking 1-2 RBs this class, so you figure they're scouting more.
We did offer RB Dacorious Law out of Florida recently.
Yes I'd kind of forgotten about him but I think his recruitment is going to expand a little with both us and tOSU offering back to back weeks.
Michigan State still leads for RB Chris James. The offer from Wisconsin is just another big time offer from a school that produces BIG OL to run behind similar to the reason he likes Iowa.
Article up on Rivals talking about James had a set top 3 until Wisky offered. Anyone care to "translate" the article?
It's nothing new. He just says he likes Wisconsin and wants to see all the schools again.
I saw it and it feels like nobody leads and he's wanting to make more visits, my guess is he is not committing anywhere anytime soon unless a visit blows him away which I don't see happening.
Pretty surprised he didn't get a 4th star from Rivals today
The arguement will never die on whether or not we love or hate Hondo. However, he gets great interviews. Yesterday he had a very good interview with Chris James. You can read the majority of it from a free link on twitter. Turns out that the guy who is certainly the favority RB of most of us here on the board is a helluva young man. Oh, he also mentions we still lead for his services. Thought you boys might like some good news.
They put out a better highlight tape for James. With his speed, power, vision, and hands, he looks like a pretty complete back.
Watch Chris James, and 19 other videos.
Jesus its like 7 mins of pure TD's. if he's not a concensus 4 star by the end of HS then every analyst in this bizz should hang it up. Embarrassing.
Nice tapes... Impressed with the ref at the 120-126 part...
Edwin Baker with vision???
First look at him reminds me a lot of Edwin Baker. The difference is that Baker's last year he tried to hard to hit the homerun and danced in the holes. This kid seems to just explode through the holes. Runs good between tackles. Doesn't look to get the to the edge but can if needed.
