Cancelled his visit to AA today.. Can't be a bad thing.
laconophilia is everywhere...
Michigan State does not and will not run the 3-4 defense.
Southfield (Mich.) High Top247 defensive end Lawrence Marshall says the Spartans s visit to East Lansing.
Per his profile, unanimously predicted to go green, including predictions from Steve Lorenz (UM) and Bill Kurelic (OSU and MSU).
As much as I agree, I'm just wondering what he is waiting on.. Not setting up visits to another school.. Up in EL 2x a month... Blown away on his last visit..
Time to make an informed and great decision..
I think the issue is that he committed once already and then de-committed the same week. I think he wants to do all of his due diligence.
He could also be waiting on a USC offer.
His mother particularly feels this way, and is the main reason I would be quite surprised if he ended up at OSU. She was reportedly quite displeased when Marshall came home from his OSU visit as a committed recruit. I believe she felt that Meyer pressured Marshall to commit, and didn't like his method.
I'm guessing that Marshall and his mom have a date in mind that they're waiting for, and that once it hits, he gives a verbal pledge to MSU.*
*This is all assuming that he doesn't receive an offer from USC between now and then, who would likely become an immediate contender, if not the favorite.
Visiting MSU again tomorrow for Spring game.
Will be 7th straight visit to MSU since mid Feb (ie no other visits)
I think it's safe to say that, barring a USC offer, Marshall is Green.
At this point, a USC offer may not even tip the balance though.
Lawrence Marshall visited MSU over the weekend and has been a frequent guest in East Lansing, but the four star DE is taking his time with the recruiting process.
Too easy? He is quick off the edge!

I understand how this recruiting game is played and I understand that different things appeal to different recruits, but if he has been such a regular on campus for this long and we DON'T get him it's going to be a kick in the nuts.
I'm hoping all of the time he has been spending here means something and he can see himself leading the MSU defense in the coming years.

I agree. It was a little disappointing in the interview to hear him say "just because I visit a school alot doesn't necessarily mean I'm going there". I was under the impression 10 visits was exactly what that meant.
As they say, watch what a recruit does, not what he says . . . even Lorenz over on the UM board says he's going green and that guy tries to spin everything UM's way.
I typically follow that line of thinking as well Rocky. There will always be the pending threat of that USC offer, but I don't see how things could look any better for us on this. Marshall holding out a bit longer and camping at the combines will oh raise the stature of a guy I think we'll get.
I think he wanted to make it clear he hadn't chosen MSU yet because he didn't want to hurt his chances of a USC offer. If USC offers, he's a Trojan, but I don't see that happening.
