What is Marshall's true weight? Here it says 225 about everywhere else says 205.
According to the article WAwine posted in the Watkins thread, Marshall could end up choosing a college in about a month. I thought that it might be months before he decided, but it looks like we may shortly see this saga come to a conclusion. Seems like MSU is the frontrunner at this point, but I guess that we'll just find out at the end of May.
From the pics from last week's camp, he looks more like 225-230
Yeah, looks a lot like Shilique as a SR.
USC would offer him even if he'd committed to MSU. He might not realize that, but UO, USC, OSU, etc. don't stop because a kid's committed.
In a heartbeat
laconophilia is everywhere...
Marshall going elsewhere wouldn't be as big of a kick in the nuts as what happened with Drake Harris. Not even in the same ballpark
I was under the impression it was because he committed so quickly to tOSU that he promised his mom that he would take his time this time around.
Michigan State does not and will not run the 3-4 defense.
Very well could be the likelier scenario. Either way, I think we agree that MSU is in the lead (potentially aside from USC), and is the likeliest to earn his commitment.
Anyone know what his most recent timeline is?
Trimming his list later this week i believe, and then a decision late May.
I don't agree. It would be nice to have a high-level receiver on the team, but you know what? It is not going to help us win that many games. Top-tier DL is what we need to keep up with UM, OSU and ND in the linemen arms race that's going on right now. Players like Enoch Smith, Lawrence Marshall, and Daniel Cage are the ones who are going to take us to 10+ win seasons and division titles in the future and make us a contender every year in the Big Ten East. Losing elite DL is always the biggest of groin shots.
Throw in that it's harder to find good DL than WR, despite what the receiving corps looks like right now.
Agree 100%. You see a lot of team like Northwestern, BSU, BYU, etc. manufacture decent offenses. The UM Rich Rod era had no problem ringing up 25-30 points per game. Its defense that makes the difference. I look at the addition of Burton -- who by all accounts is a huge leap forward for the DL group. Add in some intriguing guys like D.Cooper, D.Salmon, Noah Jones and now Enoch Smith and hopefully Marshall -- MSU might be more than fine on D. I think with Coach D's focus on D, Narduzzi, Burton will ensure solidity on the D line.
It's not the position that's the kick in the sack, it's the way Harris did it.
Oh, ya, fucking hilarious.
The constant back-handed douchbaggery from these people never ceases to amaze.

For the record, the color of a kid's gloves at a combine is not "news".
When I pooped this morning, it was brown. For the record, this does not mean I'm committing to Bowling Green.
What about Brown Bowling?
I pooped and peed. I'm a heavy Wyoming lean now.
High schoolers are the only ones wearing those maize and blue abominations, apparently. Even players have been quoted as saying they don't like the Adidas equipment provided to them. They'd rather spend their own money on generic accessories than wear free Adidas stuff.
