Write it down, if he is injured that virtually guarantees he will commit to MSU when it comes time to make his decision...oh wait, they get injured after committing most of the time don't they.
I think it's safe to say it should be a team effort to land Malik. Well done by the staff.
With Too Tall Gholston having a good but not great year, a return could be possible for his senior year. If this happens, I think this helps our chances with McDowell.

Not saying I agree or disagree but why would this help our chances with Malik? Are they best friends or something? Could just be me, but I would like our chances with Malik just as much if not more if Gholston had that monster 14 sack 25 TFL season we all were hoping for and and went top 15 in the draft than him having the solid season that he is having and coming back.
I think they are saying since he didn't have the monster year this year, if he came back he is more likely to terrorize and go even higher in the draft next year, thus raising the profile of that positional vacancy within our defense and make committing to us in 2014 more attractive.
Malik has stated that Gholston is his favorite player.
OSU visiting him today
National Recruiting Analyst
Michigan State does not and will not run the 3-4 defense.
We may not have the shady boosters of the SEC and OSU, but having Izzo for these duel sport athletes is a heck of a blessing

McDowell is a dual sport?
Yes. Although I don't know if he would see the court much being a bulky guy for 6'7".
laconophilia is everywhere...
Any word on his visit? And what exactly are our chances with him?
Is there any chance we'd offer him Bball?
Doubtful. I'm sure Izzo would agree to give him a Dion Sims type shot if it would get him here though.
If he came here it'd have to be on a football scholarship anyways (like Drake Harris would've been). I would think Izzo would give him a walk-on spot though
Nobody outside the MAC considers him to be a hoops player at the next level.
Reminds me of 2012, when all recruits said they had a "good time" or "had fun" in EL, but then.........

We desperately need an elephant hunter on the recruiting trail. We have great facilities, a excellent coach, awesome new scoreboards, a top 5 defense, and we still are missing on the big boys more often then not. It's disappointing. Sorry, didn't mean to hijack the thread.
