Also, multiple tweet mentions from his profile page link to a recent Scout article about Hester and MSU... hopefully it's good news.
nothing really - likes MSU, is looking forward to his visit (article was written before)
Kid just got a huge 92 ranking.
That says Spartans too.
MSU is in his early top 6.
That's very good news after 5 months of nothing.
Nardawg is doing work!
Looks like we have some serious competition for Kiy, but I have faith in our staff.
"Stats are for Losers." - Pat "Nardawg" Narduzzi
love the continued aggression by the staff.
This is they type of kid that can make a program. At 6'0", 200lb he is flexible enough to play at a plethora of positions; WR, S, CB, RB, even OLB. Give the staff enough elite athletes in the 6'0" - 6'3", 190-210lb range, and you won't have to worry about the defensive skill possessions at all. Not to mention the abilities on special teams...
laconophilia is everywhere...
Sounds like a current commit who's last name begins with a W and ends w/ illiams.
@RicoBeard: #MichiganState made 2014 4* DB Kiy Hester (@followmylead_23) Final 7 along with Miami, Ohio State, UNC, Virginia, Rutgers and Vandy.
Just seems odd to see MSU, OSU...etc. going head to head with Rutgers and Vandy.
yes and no...he's a Jersey kid so Rutgers isn't a shock. Vandy is a new playa on the SEC block: they have a VERY good, young aggressive coach and they're the best academic school down there.....by FAR. Vandy could be very similar to N.Western in Football if they put their mind to it.
Duzzi had made quite a few trips to NJ recently. I know it's a long shot, but this kid and West would be an awesome safety class. Although I could see Hester at Star eventually ala Jairus Jones.
According to his profile, he's taking an official visit to MSU on November 1st (the Friday before the UM game). I don't know if it's set in stone, but his only other listed visit is to Vanderbilt a few weeks earlier. I guess that there was an ESPN Insider article about him today which mentions MSU, but I'm not a subscriber... Not good that he calls OSU his childhood dream school, but this one isn't nearly over.

Commits to Rutgers.
Michigan, MSU, and Ohio State (among others) lost a recruit to Rutgers. lol what
Best recruiting week in a long, long time almost immediately followed by probably the worst one this year.

He was crystal balled there after all - we'll see him in 2014
The efforts in NJ have been fruitless to say the least. This is precisely why we question all the time spent there. Maybe it's the businessman in me who thinks throwing money/resources/time into the air like confetti is a bad strategy but that's just me I guess.
6 years, 2 recruits? Time to farm another area.
Good luck to Ky. That's his home state school. At least he's helping build up the lower end of the conference.
I would disagree, but if Narduzzi leaves after this year for a head coaching gig, then you may be right. If he stays another couple of years, I think we start to pick up a few more guys. Right now, Rutgers can still sell being a winning program and the excitement of moving to the B1G. However, after their first 2 years in the B1G, I think they're looking at a huge dropoff due to the increased competition level. They've PLAYED one top 25 team since 2010 (#24 at that) and haven't beaten one since 2009. They haven't played a top 15 team since 2007. The Big East has been absolutely awful the last 5 years and Rutgers has been able to plug along with 8-5 and 9-4 seasons in order to keep some momentum. I think that ends in 2014.
Ugh these past two days have been so shitty.
