So here's something interesting. Another site is listing Drake Martinez, brother to Nebraska QB Taylor, as an official visitor for next weekend. That site lists an offer and visit, although 247 doesn't list MSU. He's listed as an athlete at 6'2" 205 lbs and lists a 4.4 40.
This could turn out to be nothing, but thought it was relevant considering who his brother is. If he has the same type of wheels, he could be a weapon on O.
247 profile is attached.
To be honest, I'm surprised they initially ranked him that high, but good for him.
I can understand Chmura at 78 because he was injured quite a bit. But how the hell is Salmon that low?
How is he not already committed to Nebraska if he has an offer?
Probably because Pelini is fucking crazy and his brother warned him to watch out.
Rivals100 is out. Shane Morris lost his 5th star, dropped to #81 overall. No MSU commits in the top 100, but that was to be expected; Reschke is the only 250 member and he didn't play in any all-star games.
Biggest guys to watch are obviously Delton Williams and Damion Terry for tomorrow's 250 and Wednesday's "rest of the 4-stars".
Michigan State does not and will not run the 3-4 defense.
Additionally, Dennis Finley could be another candidate to get a 4* bump and Shane Jones a bump into the Rivals250.
Husker fans are saying he's not close to Taylor. Apparently their mom and dad broke up and they went to live with different parents. His offer still seems to be on the table, however, so we would be beating them for him if we got him.
I'd be surprised if the Erie boys got the bump. Farrell has openly stated he doesn't feel the same way about them as everyone else does. He's been almost defiant in his unwillingness to give Terry his due.
Yea, I guess Williams had a great Chesapeake Bowl; that's how he made the final 247.
You're right about Farrell and Terry though. Seems like he's just being stubborn; every other service has him as a solid 4-star.
Drake Martinez highlight video;
That's pretty impressive and the kid has good size being 6'2 and 200lbs. Him and Delton would give us two athletes who could potentially play both sides of the ball.
Just because you have one of the best seasons ever in football-rich PA doesn't mean you need to be recognized for it. Duh.
Drake Martinez is an excellent athlete who projects to SS, RB or OLB at the next level.
Is he seriously interested in MSU?
Did Alec James decide to stick with Wisky?
any kid that is 6'2 200+ with 4.4 speed, you damn well make room for IMO.
that seems to be the case
Would they even overlap a year, or would Taylor be gone by the time Drake got there? If so, Taylor's telling him to stay away.
Taylor's a SR this year; they'd overlap by a year.
Per Rivals' 250 chat today, it sounds like Damion Terry is going to get a 4-star bump but be outside the 250. Would make him the second consensus 4-star in the 2013 class, joining Reschke.
In addition to those two, Shane Jones, Dennis Finely, Powell, Delton Williams and Hicks are 4-stars on at least 1 site.

Confirmed; Terry's a consensus 4-star now.
Article on the other site talking about Terry's move up. Also a note that Lamar Robbins made the move to 4-star. I wonder why we stopped recruiting him. Does Justin Williams have a higher ceiling?
Robbins stopped being interest in MSU awhile ago, IIRC
BTW, I can't believe Rivals has Darian Hicks as the #49 player in Ohio
