No offense, but I don't think that makes much sense.
I suppose he could work on his conditioning, but I think being away from football would hurt him.
The last thing I heard was that Riley's older brother went through a similar phase, and turned down football scholarships for another sport (may have been track also), but after 1 year away he missed the game and came back. Therefore, there is a speculative train of thought that all he needs is a year away from the game to "rekindle the flame" so to speak.
But as Nitro said, all either of us is doing is speculating.
laconophilia is everywhere...
It wasnt ferentz though, it was of the coordinator nature...one particular one that kids love.
Sorry victory, meant to quote you in tbe last one.

I thought powells film was imcredible. I thought he was neck and neck with conley to be honest. And conley blew up late in tbe process.
To me he looks like a player. Id be happy there as well.
MSU recruited both Jalyn Powell and Delton Williams as athletes.
Powell is somewhat of a legacy recruit since former Spartan Chris L. Rucker, is his cousin. Powell projects to several positions at the next level; S, CB, WR, STAR LB (has the frame to grow), RB, Wildcat QB + Returner.
Delton Williams also projects to several positions at the next level; S, RB, WR, STAR LB + Returner. Look for Williams to get reps @ RB during Fall practice, especially if Le'Veon Bell leaves early for the NFL.
A pure S like Delano Hill would make some sense based on the aforementioned players switching positions at the next level.
Note : MSU now has renewed interest in FL ATH Justin Williams who could also project to S, RB, CB, STAR LB + Returner at the next level.
CBD, there has been some speculation over on the UM board that Powell may be the 'mystery recruit' that Sam Webb said would be visiting this weekend.
He is supposedly a 2013 versatile defensive prospect, who would receive some fairly significant retribution if it came out he was visiting.
I personally don't find it likely, but is there any chance, in your mind, that Powell is this 'mystery recruit'?
Hondo has an article on Riley on his front page. Supposed quote from Riley: “ I’m totally committed to track and field. I wouldn’t switch to anything else.”
I haven't heard anything about this. Was Powell the kid that had UM in his top group a lot earlier and they never offered? Maybe I'm thinking of Jayme Thompson or maybe both?
Edit: Saw he visited UM three times and also had interest in WVU and OSU so I think he is the kid I was thinking about.

I've heard no indication that Jalyn Powell isn't solid to MSU.
Blue Sam sucks Hoke dick.
That's what I thought. Thx.
How cooth....webb never said it had anything to do with an msu recruit. So how does webb sucking hokes dick have anything to do with powell?
Because Sam thinks any and every MSU commit would switch to UM if hoke makes them a priority. He's a partisan shill for UM in every way.
"losing Caleb Benenoch is a blow that Dantonio will never recover from. Izzo has lost it as well. Hoke and Beilein own the state."
but you didn't deny it!
Thompson was an idiot. Had us and nd and wv in his top group and said he was going to make his decision when we never offered and neither did nd. After he committed to wv osu offered and he accepted. He was jhst trying to will his way to an offer. I dont think state had any interest in him either.
No hell no, im not stupid. He is super pro UM.
....but he never said it had anythimg to do with an msu recruit. J just dont see what he is getting at. the fact that someone brought up powell was just pure and utter speculation. webb being pro UM has litterally nothing to do with anything. He just a committed recruit was visiting...then treui said it was NOT hill.
A um offer for Powell would be funny though. Watch for the analysis to change from, "solid 3 star guy, totally MSU's type of get" to "probably the most versatile DATH in the country, probably better than Conley anyway"
From "he would be noticeably behind the rest of UM's class" to "likely the most underrated recruit in the midwest. Seroiusly, how is he not a borderline 5*?"
So you're saying there's a chance . . .
Michigan State does not and will not run the 3-4 defense.
I mean, that's what I got out of it...

This is the kind of thing that makes me not want to go crazy on the staff about the oline problems. The collection of injuries is impressive already and then you add it to a big MSU fan who's a big time prospect at T deciding he'd rather play another sport. Dantonio's first class had one of his top oline recruits get bone cancer and another just not show up for fall practice.
We need to make Roushar sacrifice a few goats.
What was all that one in a million talk?
Yeah, pure bad luck on this one. When skip showed me his film, it lkterally looked cartoonish. That guy could move for such a large individual. The low competition did nothing to persuade me negatively about the type of player he is, but it def made his film look even crazier since everyome else on the field belinged in the shire. It just looked super funny watching him running around blowing ip kids. Really too bad he isnt playing.
I'd trade Roushar's left arm for a stable healthy OL any day of the week :)
Would we gain more leverage just sacrificing roushar himself?
For what it's worth, Sam said that both of the MSU guys that got offers were offered because they're really good players despite the fact that it was unlikely either of them would consider Michigan. I just thought I would share that now that it's come out that neither of them are interested in Michigan.
