This is Mattison's last stop, but he will most likely retire in that time frame.
My ideal 2014 class:
WR- Harris, Snodgrass
OL- Richardson, Allen, Mavety, Nelson
DE- McDowell, Marshall, Hirschfeld
DT- Evans, Cage
LB- Drake, Bullough, Berger
ATH- Watkins, Hester, Harrell
Rogue Leader= Obese coward who didn't attend MSU and has no college degree
good luck with that... all Plan A's lets be realistic
Smaller class, no? 21?
I don't know of any TE and P prospects that we're in on
1 of each makes 23
One thought on oline recruiting. Perhaps the staff is planning on Skylar Burkland getting a sixth year to play because he lost most of his redshirt freshman year to an injury? Usually appearing in just three games makes it, I think. Obviously dependent on whether he'd want to do so, but having him leave after 2015 rather than than 2014 makes our tackle situation seem better.
I'd love to be wrong, but I'm going to go on the record saying not a chance...
I mean, he did say it was his ideal class, not a realistic one.
Yeah that was my dream class
Realistically if we could get 8 of those guys it would be a great class
We already have commitments from 3 of them and are in good shape with guys like Allen, Richardson, Harrell and O'Connor
It's fun to think about ideal classes as of today. But one thing I like about Msu is how well we do evaluating and recruiting as the summer camp season goes along. I'd almost rather snag a kid during a great senior season as opposed to someone who had a great junior year but lays off after he commits somewhere.
Jizz-in-your-pants fantasy = OC (HD O Guru/recruiter) + .90 percentile D = BTCG season + Bowl win = class listed above.

This is the recruiting thread in case you didn't notice
Yep. Marshall too!
Dorsey's guess from a couple weeks ago:
QB: Michael O'Connor of IMG Academy in Florida
RB: Nick Chubb of High School in Georgia
WR: Drake Harris of Grand Rapids Christian High School in Michigan
WR: Dominique Booth of High School in Indiana
TE: Ethan Wolf of High School in Ohio
OL: Nick Richardson of High School in Ohio
OL: Ben Oxley of Avon High School in Ohio
OL: KaJohn Armstrong of Detroit Loyola High School in Michigan
OL: Brian Allen of Hinsdale Central High School in Illinois
DE: Nile Sykes of High School in Illinois
DE: Lawrence Marshall of Southfield High School in Michigan
DL: Billy Hirschfeld of High School in Wisconsin
DT: Daniel Cage[/db[ of High School in Ohio
LB: [db]Deon Drake of Detroit Cas Tech High School in Michigan
LB: Byron Bullough of Traverse City Central High School in Michigan
LB: T.J. Harrell of High School in Florida
DB: Darius West of Lima Catholic High School in Ohio
DB: Jalen Embry of Detroit Martin Luther King High School in Michigan
DB: Vayante Copeland of Thurgood Marshall High School in Ohio
DB: Kiy Hester of High School in New Jersey
ATH: Dareian Watkins of High School in Ohio
This is Dorsey's very early projection of MSU's 2014 recruiting class?
Coaches who can outline plays on a black board are a dime a dozen. The ones who win get inside their player and motivate.
No way we get Nick Chubb
I don't see us getting a guy out of GA with Alabama, Georgia, ND and O$U offers
Never mind I didn't see it at first.

Looks like Dorsey had an extra glass of before making this prediction.
Anyone think that increased attention from a schools "writers" helps during the recruitment process? Specifically comparing our board to the UM board, there are multiple people there talking to recruits every single day for quotes etc. It seems like we have one or two guys who throw up an article a week that may or may not contain any actual info, UM recruits are getting asked about it 20x more. Just curious, thinking of it in a top of mind marketing sense.
If UM is his #1, why not commit
*psst* could he be waiting on an MSU offer?
laconophilia is everywhere...
I'm sure it attracts some kids. Would definitely add a layer of intrigue into why Notre Dame and FSU have continually gotten excellently ranked classes despite a lack of success.
Chance Stewart decommits from wisconsin.
Sturgis (Mich.) High Top247 quarterback Chance Stewart backs off his pledge to Wisconsin, talks Badgers and whats next with him and his recruitment.
