Recruits Who Could Earn Offers @ June 16th Camp

  • zombieonidas said...

huh? Honestly, he's a kicker - they are almost never offered in their junior years; especially not before they camp. That's silly. And frankly, if I was an MSU coach and I read some of the tweets that kid was putting out - I would never offer him a scholarship.

He's hurting his chances if an MSU coach saw some of his tweets. They are so annoying and conceded especially for a kicker. He keeps talking about how awesome the SEC and Bama is, has 0 offers, brags about watching an MSU game on the sidelines and is happy a guy he doesn't even know except for 100 character tweets will be happier elsewhere. How do you know someone about a thousand miles away from you, you never met in person will be happier at another school anyways?

+1 the attitude this kid has shown is piss poor and I want no part of him.

Being called a sunshine blower is not insulting to me and I'm proud to be one.

    Oh, stop it.

He's in HS. If he becomes a Spartan and kicks a game-winning 55 yd FG to beat UM, you'll be singing a different tune.

Pretty sure I read a tweet that said, almost word for word, that, FWIW.

To answer the original question about an offer, June 19th is MSU's kicking camp (so Tuesday). If he's serious about being a Spartan, one would assume he would be there. Not sure whether he'll be offered this soon, but I don't believe he has been offered from any other school, despite him camping all over down south. Despite low scholarship #'s, I would be for offering him. It's Conroy's last year and Muma, other than kickoffs, doesn't have a ton of other game-kicking experience. This kid can place kick and punt. Wouldn't be bad to line up a clearly talented kicker for the next 4-5 years and be done with it.

There was a little sarcasm there. I'm aware of what he said, and has been saying. He's dogged our fanbase, climate, hospitality, etc. I just find it hard to believe that we're "slow playing" him. Literally, almost every recruit who's interviewed mentions how "straight up" our staff has been with them and it's what they appreciate. We have limited scholarships this year and it may cause us to miss out on a kid who has been a fan his whole life. It's already happened with Zach Bradshaw. Let me say this, I have no idea whether or not we'll offer JJ. I do however find the comments a little disturbing. However, any idiot tweeting recruits should be taken out back and beaten with a hose.

Do you have an additional report/info on the kid from Portage Central Jessesspen? He's from my hometown, so I'm pulling for him to maybe walk-on at least. Where would the staff project him and are they high on him? I've been told he's a lifelong MSU fan. Big kid, too.

Thanks for all your info on here as always.

Ha - sorry, I missed that.

But I don't disagree. He is still just a high schooler, and while I usually find that to be a cop-out, sometimes fans just gotta let it be and not get worked up about it. Regardless of his tweets, it sounds like MSU would be a real player for him if offered. Probably see some more info with all this after the kicking camp next week (assuming he's there).

Yeah I agree. We'll see what the kid is made of next week. If you go out and kind of blast a fanbase and a program on twitter and have the stones to show up and blow up their kicking camp I'll be happy. I hate the comments, they were bad at best, but he looks good. If he goes green we'll forget all about it.

Jeppessen projects to OG (we used to have one of those...) but apparently the staff has expressed interest in seeing him work on the DL as well. At 6'4" ~260lbs, I would think he'd project to DT. He's apparently been on campus a lot, so the coaches definitely know the kid. One would think he'll get a fair shake at earning an offer at camp or during his SR season.

Just because he told Caleb benenoch to go elsewhere every day on twitter?

    Is this true?

  • Do we know everyone offered at SMSB? Maybe CBD could add the offers to his original list.

yeah, it's kind of weird. He's made a ton of disparaging remarks about the fanbase but who cares. I still would like to see him in green.

I agree. He's hurt right now because he's not getting the love / attention / offers guys like Benenoch received, and he's lashing out. I'd welcome him with open arms.

Somebody needs to pin a well formulated post the describes tRCMB. I haven't seen a more open forum than ours for all sort and form of dialog (in good taste and bad). Most other boards seem to be all VIP posts, and appear to be under much tighter control.

I'm not complaining because the place would be a lot less entertaining if it changed. But, a few idiots does not constitute a fan base, and the shticks on here are probably getting more genuine attention than they deserve.

  • Realize the day is just beginning, but any word on how the 7-7 went yesterday? Robert Foster? Boyd?

    Tupes

  • Foster and Boyd's 7 on 7 team was at OSU yesterday, they didn't not make it here again. Seems like we can't get that kid on campus.

He's visited us in the past, we just can't get him back. Not being negative at all, but he's proven difficult to get to return so we may not be in it for him.

    Skip1856

  • It would have been real nice for Boyd an Foster to have been on campus yesterday. Cox is there and the campus is lookiy perfect in the summer so that would have been a great selling point. I just hate they were at OSU, Meyer just makes my blood boil, scumbag.

The 24/7 nat'l recruiting guys believe Foster will either commit to Pitt if he wants to stay home or Bama if he wants to leave home - no B1G school's in his top 2.

We're only taking one WR in the 2013 class - and I'd be ecstatic if Jay Harris from PA was the one.

I'm surprised we're even taking one for 2013

Considering we took 5 last year and have no seniors

Hopefully we can get Snodgrass for 2014

Yeah, I'm really not ecstatic about losing a potential 5 players at one position several years from now. Obviously redshirts will throw it off, but if every one of them does it then back to square one, only even more of a hole than the one we were put in before.

  • WR is really not important, especially now with Arnett's waiver being granted and Burbridge qualifying. Lippett and Dixon are also at WR full time and not a single one graduates this year, so I would be surprised if we take one period.

agree: we're LOADED.........I must have missed it: has Burbridge OFFICIALLY qualified now?
