Regardless of his ongoing recruitment, I don't believe he can. It's just not looking like Payne is going to be a two and done type of player.

Izzo has said he will make it happen if Harris chooses MSU, speculate all you want i fully trust that if he commits Izzo has a way to pull it off. End of story, he is a premier talent and a high priority player for MSU

No, Korie was graduating prior to Harris arriving on campus. No impact on class of '12. Am i not understanding something here?

I could see a transfer occurring in the off-season. Sherman looks to be out of the rotation completely and you have Gauna coming off a redshirt with Green, Roe and Payne returning on the front line. Even after Green and Roe graduate, Kaminski and Costello will take many of the PF/C minutes available in 2012. I think Izzo will sit down as he does with all his players and give them what they need to work on to get more minutes and won't paint a rosy picture for Sherm. Obviously just guessing and conjecture.

I wonder about Sherman's future too... He is going to have to undergo a significant physical change to contribute at this level. He could be 4th string by the time next year arrives.

Payne isn't going to the NBA anytime soon. The press on Payne was he was NBA ready defensively, but needed work on his offense.
I would hate to see Payne go anywhere if that is your angle, he has great upside, and I think we contribute at higher levels next season when this roster changes, and he gets a little stronger.

Payne to the NBA? Transfer? What the heck are you talking about? I love Payne's upside, but he's as likely to go to the NBA next year as I am at solving the world's hunger problems. Why in God's name would Payne transfer?! He's coming along just fine, and he should take a big step from his freshman to his sophomore year. Lay off the pipe, @WaySpartan!

Not saying he will (and I obviously hope he doesn't) but it would be for the same reason most guys transfer: the desire for more playing time. If nobody transfers following the season...with Green, Roe, Sherman, Payne, Nix and Gauna....that's a LOT of power forwards and centers competing for roughly only 80 minutes of PT. As seniors, Draymond and Delvon are both going to get about 27 minutes a game, that only leaves 26 minutes for the remaining 4 players...meaning a COUPLE of those frontcourt guys are going to be left with less than scraps. These guys all want to play and it's inevitable that a few of them are going to be unhappy with their role on the team.
This is going to be an absolutely critical offseason for Sherman, Payne and Nix.

No. Lucious' eligibility would expire after next season. (See scholarship chart)

Gauna/Sherman/Nix/Payne/Kaminski/Costello is allot of players for two spots. Someone might transfer or go pro, I think that might be the spot.
