Is this what the putz on the main board was referring to? Lol. Sweet. The gap is closed. UM gets another commit w/o an MSU offer. The last thing we need in '13 is a pg. We have two ships available. One if we land Harris. If our only commit in '13 was a player of waltons stature i would be extremely worried. Best part is we will still get the top '13 in state player of we want. James Young is a 5 star mcdaa level talent.

What would make Walton jump at a UM offer when an MSU offer was possibly forthcoming? Maybe that UM just sent a sophomore point guard to the NBA. I think that our single biggest drawback in recruiting is the paucity of players we have sent to the NBA in the past several years. Showing that template to a potential recruit has to be very influential.

Doubt it. Walton was one of three guards UM had the spot offered to, and UM applied the heat. Walton compares in no way with Morris (way smaller, better shooter). Walton, at this early stage, does not project as a pro. 6 foot guards just don't make it very often in the NBA anymore, unless you happen to be Iverson-quick.

Your analysis (and anyone else's) of Walton's future probably is at variance with his own. I assure you that a hot 15 year old prospect that is being pursued by major programs and is being looked at by all the gurus has a far rosier (but maybe less realistic) projection of his future than you. Here's a tip for you. They ALL see themselves as future NBA players.
