That's interesting. Hadn't heard that before. Thanks.
Neither have I. I wonder why...
Regarding Boozer Sr, If my son had a multi-million dollar contract to play in the NBA it would certainly have nothing to do with me wanting to quit my job to live on the same side of the country as he does.

Sonny is a former NBA player. The Parkers are firmly entrenched in Chicago. I doubt seriously they're leaving there for anyplace to watch Jabari play basketball for a season.
Anyone. Anyplace. Anytime.
An offer in and of itself would be shenanigans, regardless of the end result.
I don't think it's the departure that is being called into question.
Interesting story, I had never heard that. All indications are the Parkers are top notch folks. If he picks Duke (IMO) it will be because he thought the school and basketball program were best for him.
Both his AAU coach and Sonny said today there is no clear leader. TFWIW.
Wont link to a premium board
So let me get this straight...you want to tell us that it is wrong for anyone to say there is a clear leader...but you told us that MSU is the clear leader
My optimism has been downgrade from hopeful to doubtful. Not expecting a JP commit anymore but will be extremely happy/surprised if he does. I think we strikeout on Alexander/Okafor/Jones also. Ugh
I still think a committment is possible. Seems like the kid and family have values that would make playing for Izzo attractive. I do not believe the parents will be re-locating, nor do I believe any BS about shenanigans in this case.
At the end of the day, I think the proximity to Chicago, the players and coaches at MSU will make the difference. I think we still have a ways to go before we know.
Inside info no, just in Izzo I trust.
I thought MSU was the clear leader before the visits.
Things change over time due to visits.
Now I hope, before I was confident.
At this point, that isn't very meaningful. It is far from the norm for players/families to publicly state a leader, especially this deep into official visits. "Oh, I really, really love Duke the most but I'll go to Florida this weekend anyway." I wouldn't expect anyone close to Jabari to give away anything meaningful. Doesn't mean they don't have ideas in private.
I still feel good about Jabari and MSU.
Maybe no shenanigans in this case, but just understand that Duke has a well documented history of cheating to accomodate long distance recruits.
What do you think of the Chicago Sun-Times reporter saying Duke is the leader via "very credible inside sources" at Duke? It's really the only information we've got at all other than wishful thinking and guesses on our parts. That's what makes me so pessimistic, and also a couple rumors that the current players didn't get a vibe that he was coming. Oh well, who knows
Those rumors came from one guy on Hondo's board. That board is about as anti Izzo as your average UM board. And there was another Chicago guy that tweeted 10 minutes later (after O' Brien) that anyone that thinks there is a clear leader for Parker is mistaken. Until the national guys start weighing in, not sure any of this should be taken as much more than bluster.

Agree, Hondo's board is anti Izzo
And Schmidt who is very reputable said it is a critical error to assume clear leader
I've tried to figure out why. I've got nothing aside from one of the guys who used to work on his radio show seems to still be upset about the NBA stuff and they all really, really seem to hate Lucas and Summers. Summers gets treatment on that board that makes his treatment on RCMB look like a day at the beach, and Lucas doesn't get much better.
They were calling for Izzo's job after the Louisville game and the Nix stuff.
People from Chicago are saying Jabari is the biggest HS recruit since benji Wilson. Even bigger than KG and Ronnie Fields. So the fact that a newspaper guy makes a claim does nothing for me. He is trying to sell papers and get page views. After every visit we will hear complimentary things about the host school, because the family has class.
This is probably the most intriguing recruiting situation in school history. I have said it before but it is somewhat refreshing that JP has been tight lipped. None of the me me me stuff we have grown accustomed to with top recruits.
Michael O'brien is the sun times writer. It was a tweet, nothing more. The only thing it sparked was an SB Nation article which will surely be followed by a Bleacher report blip as well. Insider sources that aren't named are not credible. If its true however, to quote the great knick Michael ray Richardson, "the ship be sinkin'" as it relates to the 13' class.
"@StanfordRivals: According to a source, Jabari Parker's official visit to #Stanford, originally Nov. 9, has been rescheduled for late Nov/early Dec."
This move definitely pushes back any potential decision-making before the deadline. Aside from that, no new insight here.
If insider sources are named you probably won't hear much from that journalist after that because if they name the insider source they won't be getting any inside information again. Insiders stand to lose a lot if they are exposed for giving out inside info. Sorry for the buzz word bingo response.

I absolutely understand that portion of it. The point of my original comment was that I don't think OBrien has a credible source. Evidenced by his backing off his original tweet.
Wasn't paying attention to the details earlier, but now you've got my interest. The guy that said duke is the clear leader is backing off that now? If I'm completely botching this someone please delete so I don't start a mass panic or something.
