Izzo was there tonight. Not a great game due to foul trouble for both guys but TI made his presence known.

@Money23Green Your buddy (nameless per rules) was AT our game today AT NW! What?!!! Didn't put a smile on my face. #worktodo
Nameless per rules = recruit
NW = Chicago = Parker?
nice decoding there. I like our chances!
Why "didn't put a smile on my face" if it's Parker?
I don't think there is anything we can decode to this message.
I read it as she didn't smile as to not show how giddy she was to see him and remain cool?
it is Parker, and when the women's coach can take notice of him and relay the message publicly that he is visiting NW it confirms the priority this young man is to the entire school. He will not attend NW, but he will explore his options.
You don't get it?
It didn't put a smile in Suzy's face because he was visiting Northwestern, and that's one of the schools Parker is high on... did you not notice the "AT NW! What?!!!"
I thought it was pretty clear.

This kid is different, I wouldn't rule out NW or anyone else for that matter. Good for him for looking at any and all options.
People have to remember with Parker that there is a chance he could end up at BYU. He is a very different recruit in almost every way. I wouldn’t be surprised if he is one and done at a blueblood or sticks around and gets his degree at a top academic school.
ESPN article on Jabari's recruitment. Talks mostly about relationship w/ Weber and how if he got fired it would play into his decision.
The family of Jabari Parker, who is the nation's top-ranked junior out of Chicago's Simeon Career Academy, is unsure if Illinois will remain in the recruiting mix for Parker if Bruce Weber is fired.
Reported that Izzo is in Chicago watching his game tonight, so is coach K
Jabari and Simeon won their third straight state championship yesterday over Proviso East 50-48. He finished with 15 points. Shannon Brown's brother Sterling scored 25 for Proviso East.
We will find out how good he really is when he has to play one on five for 1 game next year due to all his teammates being suspended.
Simeon coach Robert Smith suspended nine underclassmen for one game next season after they removed their shoes and placed them on the court following their third straight Class 4A state championship in Peoria, Ill.

PUT DA TEAM ON MY BACK DU
Well we'll see if coach Smith will be back next year there were rumors on sports radio today that he may be an attractive assistant to Shaka or whoever is the next Illinois coach.
Reggie Theus, your table is waiting.
Multiple reports that Smith was in Champaign today. Though that would only make sense if Illinois is close on getting a new head coach.
Illinois is really going all out to land Parker aren't they? Interesting how it would look if they hired Smith.
"Ohio coach John Groce continues to be the top focus for the Illinois search, but a deal has not been struck. While at Ohio State, Groce developed a reputation as an elite recruiter, helping sway Greg Oden and Mike Conley Jr. to Ohio State." Don't know how this might affect Parker's recruitment, but I find it relevant and interesting and thought others might as well.
I think it is actually beneficial for us. Some people thought Illinois might target his HS coach or another coach he has a solid relationship with which is probably a bit short sighted for the school but better for the Parker recruitment.
Sounds like the family is big on the relationships they currently have with coaches and aren't interested in building any with newcomers. This could effectively take Illini out of the Parker sweepstakes.
So Illinois is out...right?
I wouldn't say they are out, but their chances took a hit with Weber gone.

Just pure speculation, but you might think if Weber was asked for advice now, he may suggest Izzo.
"Whatever school he wants to go to, he wants to make sure he fits in whatever system they run," Sonny Parker said. "Then, it's also he wants to know the type of team, type of players he's going to play with. The other part is development. The last part is he want to have an opportunity to win a national championship. Those are the things he wants to evaluate when making those types of decisions."
You would think all these criteria would be a plus for us. I could see Jabari playing the role Draymond did this year. Then again, I'm sure Duke could provide them as well, but further from home..
I have to be honest, I'm not 100% sure that's true. I'm not at all confident that Parker was likely headed to Illinois under Weber. Groce is an excellent recruiter and doesn't have some of the problems that the end of the Weber regime was laboring under. Rocking the boat and getting someone new in there might actually help Illinois. It's an uphill battle but it was under Weber, too.
