Is there any word on how this visit went? He is reported to be announcing his choice In eleven days and was hoping we might have a better idea of our chances after his recent visit.
From what i have heard Georgetown has the inside track, but its still up in the air. This from posters on the Memphis board.
When does he announce?
Not sure if this is worth anything, but... I have a good friend who is on the staff at one of Williams' finalists. Went from very confident they would get him to not at all over the last week. Could be a good sign, could be nothing.
Memphis, I assume.
He isnt going to Memphis, thats a fact.
He is choosing between Georgetown, Michigan State, Missouri, Tennessee, and Texas. We have not heard much about him, but Izzo loves the kid.
No more Texas..
@DaveTelep: Jonathan "J3" Williams announcing Oct. 18. Missouri, Georgetown, Tennessee, Michigan State on final list.
for some reason i got that gut feeling about missouri.. all that hype about the SEC but dont get me wrong i want him to be a spartan
The vaunted SEC basketball conference....
It's not memphis
Being reported he has a final three of MSU, Missouri, and Georgetown.
Two dead programs and a regular deep tournament team. Outside of PT concerns, there is no decision if these are really the three finalists
In what way are Georgetown and Missouri Dead Programs? Georgetown is an annual contender in the best league in the nation and Missouri is on their way up if anything. Don't act so superior. There are plenty of reasons to choose one school over another. Academics, location, relationship with coaching staff and players. Not going to argue you guys haven't been more successful than us, you have. But that's not the end all be all of recruiting decisions.
Georgetown has lead for JW3 from the get go. Rumors are that his dad likes michigan state but JW3 prefers the Hoyas. I guess we'll find out tomorrow.
You might want to check the conference pecking order one more time. The B1G is the best conference in the country. I think Georgetown plays in the 3rd best conference this year...
The only thing Gtown is an annual contender at is losing in the 1st round..
Kinda a wolverinesque thing to say dude... Both teams have played good basketball in the last few years... Mizzou looked really good last year.
Dont be that guy the rest of us are embarassed by.
Wow I assumed you guys would be classy like your coach. Guess not. Sheesh.
We generally are, but let's not pretend every fan base doesn't have their d bags.
Georgetown is a school with tons of opportunity and tradition. I think all of us have to respect that. Nothing but respect here.
It was an instant reaction and "dead" was far reaching, but certainly lower level if he is looking at the recent (last 10-12 years) success of the programs. I can't recall us being consistently being compared to G-Town and Mizzou.
IMO, if the success of the hoops program is what I would gauge my college choice on, it would be MSU. If G-Town was in early and has built a solid relationship and he feels more comfortable there, so be it.
Michigan State, G twon, and Mizzou? i cant see the rivals page
