Well, Kentucky got involved with Gary Harris and it was a wrap for Michigan State.
Tom Izzo has watched Cliff play just about everywhere he's been.
Klee covers Illinois and does it well but I don't think he knows what a 16 yr old kid is going to do.
Klee has also been saying for weeks that the longer Demetrius Jackson goes without committing to MSU the closer Illinois gets to landing him.
We'll see if he's right about that one.
I love how ESPN doesnt even have Michigan State as an intrest for Cliff Alexander... shows how much they know.
Pretty funny video clip from the other day!

Kentucky gets those guys to the NBA just as much as a box of Captains Crunch does. Truth is, the recruits that Calipari brings to Kentucky are NBA ready straight out of high school. Josh Harrelson is the one kid at UK that he can point to and say that he helped develop. The two things that Cal can sell recruits on however is that he rarely has a recruits that digresses underneath him, and if a recruit plays for UK then they will be competing against other top recruits everyday.
I agree with you, but what do you tell a kid to make him travel all the way across the country to play for you? Cause I would love to know what Cal told Terrence Jones and Kyle Wiltjer that made them come from Oregon. Im sure he mentioned the NBA at least 1 time in their recruiting process.
That's because the kids he recruits aren't smart enough to understand what bmrabbit just said...to dumb to see anything besides $$$$
UK has plenty of selling points. National Exposure, the Dribble Drive Offense, a rabid fan base, a good coach and the ability to compete for national championships their freshman year among other reasons. It's the same reasons schools like Duke, UNC, Kansas, UCLA etc get top recruits.

RT @5starbasketball: Cliff Alexander names Mich St. his early favorite, "Loves coach Izzo" @Michigan_State
You can go to "The Only Colors".com, go to fanshots at the top of the page and watch his most recent interview from the Pangos tournament in California. He states that MSU is his favorite because he loves Tom Izzo. Says that Izzo is a great guy to be around and he loves the coaching staff.
Per Jody Demling on Twitter: "Cliff Alexander said he's been told that John Calipari has his number and "is calling" tomorrow."
I guess we're going to see how serious Kentucky is w/Cliff. Also, Jabari changed his number in anticipation of coaches blowing him up at midnight. I hope Izzo has the new number...
Are we entering a summer contact period here this weekend?
Last night at midnight- unlimited phone calls and texts to recruits. Should be interesting.
@DaveTelep: Cue the theme song from the Jefferson's cause Cliff Alexander's moving on up #top100camp
Just called Kentucky his dream school...oh well.
Izzo has been on this kid like crazy and MSU has been his favorite for a long time. If UK swoops in and snatches him up now I think Izzo might kill Calipari

Michigan State is still the team to beat for Cliff Alexander... http://scouthoops.scout.com/2/1195550.html
Only if he gets to him before I do...
It had been a wonderful evening and what I needed now, to give it the perfect ending, was a little of the Ludwig Van.
Is Kentucky everyone's dream school now? I wonder how much they're paying recruits over there.
Frankly, I dont think they have to pay anyone:
Cal is a very good coach, Kentucky is historically one of the elites, he just won a title and they have facilities as good as anyone.
Cliff Alexander said this weekend that they are his dream school so the battle for HIS services is not over either.
I was joking about them paying the recruits. I know about the tradition Kentucky has, i don't know how good of a coach Calipari is though.
Not doubting but where is the source on this one?
All of a sudden people keep citing this quote but I have yet to see anything linked.
I totally agree, i've seen numerous quotes saying that MSU is still his 1st choice, but nothing about Kentucky being his dream school. Im pretty sure that would've been all over the internet by now just like it was when Young said it.
Yep... so I did ultimately find the quote (all over the internet).
On balance, however, I also found this quote (from a UK blog, no less); "I really don't pay much attention," he said of the reporters and college coaches involved in recruiting. "I play my game and tell them what they want to hear."
I suppose I'll file this one under "wake me when he commits."
Cliff Alexander has made a rapid rise in youth basketball. But three years ago, Alexander was just a kid walking down a school hallway. Basketball meant little to this eighth-grader.
