Really, is there anybody to blame here but LeBron?
Would we even be able to take on all 3? We already have Drake Harris. If we added another 3 that means we would probably have to give up on Cliff. Then again, Drake Harris is on a football scholarship so we could possibly pull it off...
Drake is a football scholarship. We'd have 3 available scholarships in 2014, 4 if we don't land Jabari. That being said Jabari is expected to be one and done and I don't expect Dawson to be here for his senior season or Harris to be here for his junior season. If all of that attrition occurs we'd be looking at approximately 5-6 available scholarships.
We haven't even offered Pinson so I don't expect us to come in late and snag him, especially with him being from North Carolina. If they want to play together that badly I think the only school whose been in on all of them is Duke.

Well leaving us that year would be Appling and Payne. It appears we are only going to take 1 or none for 2013 so we should have 4 scholarships for 2014 because even if we get Parker he will most likely be a one and done.
I read Clint Jackson's report on the Tyus visit and he is a pro ACC guy.
It sounded like a lukewarm visit. Jones remarked how small Cameron is compared to other arenas. Maybe he is the quiet tpe but I like MSU's chances here
Your statement is rather ironic considering that had Lebron stayed in Cleveland, Izzo likely would have left to coach the Cavs.
This is Tyus Jones' most recent blog posting about his visit to Duke and North Carolina. To summarize, it seems like the visit went well and he spends a great deal more time talking about his visit to Duke. He even mentions how they recreated Austin Rivers' buzzer beating shot...on North Carolina's court. Not sure how Tar Heel fans will feel about that. He also reaffirms his desire to play with Okafor and possibly Theo Pinson at the college level. As far as I know Michigan State has not recruited Pinson, which makes the prospect of getting all three to play here less optimistic. However, we are in great shape with Okafor and Jones and if they do intend to combine their talents, a la Miami's Big 3, perhaps they could convince Pinson to come to EL as well.
A lot of duke love in that blog post. They are going to be tough to beat. A class of Tyus, Alexander and Okafor would be an all-time great class.

It had been a wonderful evening and what I needed now, to give it the perfect ending, was a little of the Ludwig Van.
I have a hard time envisioning a top-level coach like Izzo or Coach K allowing three players to dictate recruiting that way. If those are Duke's top 3, then maybe ... but I can't see either taking one so he could get the other two.
Duke has offered all 3 players. As for Izzo, it would be tough to say no to three Top 15 players. This is the nature of the game these days.
New #1 player in ESPN rankings with Wiggins moving to 2013
Dave Telep @DaveTelep
We approached 14 rankings with the thought of who we'd be comfortable with at No. 1. That new player is PG Tyus Jones. Vic Law No. 60
Here's a write-up Telep just posted regarding the jump to number 1. The article is Insider only but here's a snippet quote on his reaction to be the new number 1.
“It’s an unbelievable honor," he said. "It’s a great feeling overall. It’s something that kind of tells you where you’re at. Now that just means I have to work harder and that many more people are out there trying to be better than you. They’re coming for you, and it makes you work harder.
“It’s something you don’t really think of growing up. To be realistic, you would love to be (No. 1), but realistic thoughts mean you wouldn’t typically think that. Now that it’s a reality it’s kind of crazy.”
The winds of change breezed through the ESPN rankings on Thursday. The reclassification of Andrew Wiggins (Thornhill, Ontario/Huntington Prep) and his
Just tweeted his final 8. MSU, Kentucky, Kansas, Duke, UNC, Baylor, Ohio State, and Minnesota.
I wonder if rivals will ever update their recruiting info on Jones.
Tyus Jones updated his US Today Blog this morning. He mentioned a few things that should encourage Michigan State fans. I've included some quotes below:
-"Coach K, Coach Cal and Coach Izzo all called me after their games last Tuesday so that was pretty interesting."
-"They were basically just making sure that I was watching. They played up things that would attract me and pointed out a few different things that happened during the game. It was a good talk."
-"Those were some great games. I definitely watch really close how each school uses their point guard and different sets they run, things like that. I probably notice things most people never even think of. I really liked how Michigan State used Keith Appling at the end to get that big win. He made big plays all night. Stuff like that sticks out to me."
I've posted the link to the article as well. This illustrates how much Izzo really does care about these games, and how much is at stake with recruits, considering all the coaches made phone calls Tuesday night. Really happy Keith was able to showcase his talent and that Michigan State was able to pull out a big win.
If rumor of UNC to B1G comes true maybe no more Duke vs. Carolina and Maryland while adding MSU vs. UNC and Maryland would stick out to Tyus, too. Not predicting anything, I'm just sayin'.
Even if UNC does come to the B1G (which I highly doubt), they would still play Duke every year. It would be a protected rivalry.
ACC getting weak. Big East is done for. Big 12 as lost 3 great schools in the past 3 years. Big ten and SEC are getting very very strong everyone trying to get out of their dying conferences this could get interesting.
I'll stick with what I said..."Maybe". If UNC goes to the B1G, the luster of the rivalry would be greatly diminished regardless of whether or not they still meet. Actually, I'm pulling for a Minnesota win against the Blue Devils today, too.

Kansas and Mizzou no longer play each other. Texas A & M and Texas Tech normally played the Friday after Thanksgiving every year in football, they no longer play.
It's Duke-UNC in basketball...one of the biggest rivalries of all-time, they will play
Yeah, and the Border War, and the backyard brawl, and texas-TAMU were great rivalries too.

While I don't think those other rivalries are on the same level and I do think they will still play if UNC leaves, it would still be a big hit for both programs. They would only play once a year then, with no possible meeting in the conference tournament.
