Definitely not 50/50.

While it's nice to hear those other schools say we are the favorite, the bottom line is that they know as much as we do- which is hardly anything.

Parker's camp has been playing it close to the vest leaving everyone guessing at this point. Heck, he hasn't even (publicly) narrowed it down to a top-5. So everyone is speculating, without much fact, trying to look into things that may or may not be there. Reminds me a little of Gary's recruitment. One day it was us, the next Indiana, then Purdue, then back to us. It was a lot of people who thought they knew what was going on, but didn't really have a clue.

I'm just happy we are in the running and I'm staying as optimistic as possible.

Who are the other schools sources for saying that? (Not doubting you, just asking) From all I've seen in interviews and articles is that he's taking his time to make the right decision for him to succeed. I haven't seen anything where he really even names his top choices.

And I would have to agree Izzo is bound and determined to win another National Championship.

Heard anything else about Young and the "silent commit'' stuff?

So basically this quote doesn't exist?..If a lead recruiting analyst said "MSU is the clear leader for Parker", like you claim, it would be HUGEEEEE news...yet no one has heard about it...hmmmm

Here is one quote from the national recruit guru for the major college board:

"when it comes to jabari parker, the school that continually is talked about behind the scenes right now is michigan state. spartan boss tom izzo is really putting parker in his crosshairs, and that has led to his squad holding all the momentum in this battle. duke still can’t be counted out, and others like kansas, ohio state, washington, and illinois are battling, but there is a significant thought behind the scenes that it is michigan state with the current edge."

Good sign? Yes, but that's all it is... a sign. I hope it's true but I think Parker's commitment is far from over. I just hope we're the last university standing.

Ian, when you say things like "I think Jabari really likes Duke and Coach K" you have to give reasons why, or more importantly, you have to link sources. With a comment like that, it sounds like you have information we don't know about.

I think I'll reiterate what most people tend to agree with- nobody really knows at this point. Everyone may have their guess, but until something comes from the Parker camp (like what visits he's planning on taking in the fall), it's best not to speculate (even if Duke is high up there) and only post the pertinent information/facts.
