I don't understand your point. Are you upset that her method lead to these findings? Upset that a university would allow her to research racism? I really don't see a problem with it. It's no secret that racism is alive and well.

Agreed, that article was pathetic. Not even MAC level, and it's written by a Harvard student? I don't think that the Ivy League is composed of geniuses as much as it is composed of overachievers with connections.

The article is not written by a Harvard student. The article is about a study done by a Harvard student. The article was written by a 40 year old Senior Editor for Yahoo who went to Syracuse.

How is this not in Wells land yet

The article sucks, but identifying geographical differences in racial bias and comparing that to voting records is a very solid study. Using google search terms is an interesting, innovative, and probably fairly sound methodology. The conclusion doesn't seem to be that "we're all racist," but more that racism is still prevalent in certain geographical areas, and some of those areas may seem unexpected.

People can be incredibly blind when it comes to racism. For example, check out this recent interview with local hero/businessman Pete Karmanos:

So....Detroit lost population because the racists moved out. Except him, of course. He had a legitimate reason for moving out. He's not racist, but everyone else is...

Is this really that surprising? Like my dad always says, "How do blacks make up 12 percent of the population and 80 percent of the crime?! I can't make this up!"

The difference in upbringings is more evident now than ever, and values continue to be washed away in most all races.

If you're going to criticize a writer for a poorly written article, you should probably know how to read well enough to understand who the writer actually is. (hint: it wasn't the Harvard student).
