As a moderate, I'm rooting my ass off for Santorum

  • I have mixed feelings about this. Yes, he can't win the general election, but what does it say about our country that we would nominate a bigot like him? Especially right after nominating Palin for VP.

I must be crazy to be in a loony bin like this.

It says exactly what you think it says - that old, white people want their country back, and they're willing to vote for someone like Palin to turn the clock back to the good ol' days.

iRomney is a robot w no opinion of his own. He will say what he thinks the crowd wants to hear. Republicans are figuring this out. Santorum vs Obama might be a sweep of all 57 states for Obama

Nobody is more uniquely qualified to restore the manufacturing base, morality, and a sociopathic disdain for the gays in America than Rick Santorum.

    I hope he wins.

  • Santorum is completely, 200% unelectable. His nomination would be for the epic lulz.

let's not forget his concern that our military will not be as strong because women will be allowed to take more prominent roles in combat and men will get too emotional.

"“I think that could be a very compromising situation … where people naturally, you know, may do things that may not be in the interests of the mission because of other types of emotions that are involved,” Santorum told CNN’s John King."

Bigot is a bit harsh, but to your question, I don't think a Santorum nomination would say anything about our country, but it would say a lot about the Republican Party. I certainly agree with the sentiment that Senator Santorum would be unable to win a general election against President Obama, and I think it'd be in the territory of McGovern and Goldwater.

But what's true about the GOP in 2012 is that it is a loose coalition of traditional fiscal-oriented conservatives; tea-partiers; the NASCAR crowd; and evangelical Christians. In these past 20 years, only President Bush has been unable to unite those groups, and let's admit that his Ivy League blue-blood turned redneck Texan Christian mix was rather odd. A Santorum nomination would be the completion of a 30 year take-over attempt of the GOP by the Christian right. A Santorum loss would take that battle for the soul of the GOP to a different level.

This was the dynamic that had to play out after the McCain loss. Some blamed that on him being too moderate; others said he sold his moderateness out to the right; Palin was the choice of the Christian right; McCain loosely was the traditional Republican. The Romney-Santorum battle is indicative of those two views, and shows the fiscal-oriented conservatives (Romney) vs. right-wing Christian (Santorum) issue. A Santorum nomination and loss would bring those who call themselves Republicans to a new point in defining themselves by that label. We already see the tea-party set and supporters of Representative Paul rejecting that definition.

As an observer of politics, this is a fascinating process as we've not seen a party this adrift on the national stage since the resignation of Nixon.......

If you think Santorum can beat Obama in a general election, I have a bridge to sell you. Also lol at the thought of Santorum supporting basic human rights. The guy is the definition of a theocrat.

Yes, pray. If he loses, you didn't pray hard enough and it will be your fault.

Are you talking about Santorum or the Mormon Church. The Mitt's religion didn't even accept blacks as human beings until the 70s. Meaning Mitt was raised in a religion that believed Blacks were sub human animals. No wonder he joined the Republican Party.

The Frothy Mix actually seems like a nice guy, a crazy and stupid guy, but nice non the less.

Either of these guys are going to get thrashed thoroughly by Obama in November.

Thank you for your hate filled rant. Now fuck off back to your depraved lifestyle. Toodles wave

  • Santorum doesn't have a chance at gaining the nomination, but they're just looking for someone to take the press off of Romney. Romney will definitely be the candidate come November.

Anyone who believes the Primary process isn't rigged is completely naive.

I can see from your avatar picture that:
    1. Your either a well stacked girl that is proud of your juggs and likes to show them off (on the internet)... or
    2. You think it's cool to put a hard to see stacked chick as your avatar. (Come on, even
religious Pro-Lifers can do better than that)

So your either a whore or a loser that couldn't even get a good avatar picture... plus you like Tim Tebow! Abort yourself.
