Canadians now richer than Americans!

Call me silly, but if availability is limited, fewer would have access, and the "deranged" would be more looked in upon.

Where do you draw the line between gun control and taking away guns from responsible hunters, target shooters, gun collectors, and people who just enjoy the artistry of fine pieces?

A very fine line or a very large gray area i agree. I feel the availability of unregulated hand guns poses the greatest threat to our communities. Just me, but I have no problem with tighter/stricter regulations on all guns to reduce the carnage. I have no problem with hunting, target practice, etc. But I know children who have accidentally blown away their siblings. And though I do have friends that collect weapons but do not hunt, I just don't get why folk should be keeping an AR-15 in the house. What would you suggest to keep guns in the hands of only the responsible?

Edit - I realize I did not answer the question (is why I threw it back to you). I do know Canada has stricter laws and less death.

  • The current conservative Canadian gov't recently cut its spending significantly (with a relatively small % being tax increases).

They also don't have anything like the crazy CRA and the near elimination of any minimal loan standards for new home buyers.

Yeah, let's learn from them and do the same.
