If you want to say that just say it...don't screw around with what I am saying because you are afraid to say it yourself...that is just so stupid and rude...

Lurking on tRCMB since 1996
First - you present no logic as to why transfers of income from one place to another is a failure. You are assuming it is and then going on to document what it is...
Second, of the items listed in the link:
All the others
Three of them are paid for by specific taxes that the population quintiles which receive the benefits are the same population quintiles which pay for the benefits...namely MediCare, Social Security & Unemployment Insurance.
You didn't define "Income Maintenance" so I will hazard a guess we are talking about the support that is paid to big business such as oil subsidies and payments to farmers...oils subsidies are questionable, however I like to eat so payments to farmers are a good idea.
"All others" is a pretty big catagory...it could, but probably does not, included the thrid largest welfare program we have, which has questionable value, namely the 1.3 Trillion dollars we spend on defense, which does not have a tax to support it because Conservatives didn't bother to raise the taxes when they increased the spending by over 100%...
Since you brought it up here are a couple of graphs of the US income and spending...one showing that defense spending is what is causing the deficts and one showing an honest (self funded programs removed) pie of the US government spending....
In any case the idea that we want a sociaty where no one is save or protected, being the opposite of what I say we want, which must be what you are asking for since you seem to be arguing against the programs that help keep us safe, seems to me to be very wrongheaded...
You also seem to be applying some preverse logic that if programs are not perfect then they must be eliminated. My argument against that is that the government programs are much more sucessful that private programs or provate business both of which fail at over a 90% rate...in contrast the government programs look to be highly sucessful. Are government prgrams perfect - no. Can the operate without rules and controls automaticly -no. However they have rules and are constantly fine tuned to do the best that is humanly possible and have a much better sucess rate than private business or private programs...Maybe you believe that all the money "Sally" collects goes to "Sally's kids" - or even 50%...well sometine it goes to the people running the program - MediCare spends 97% of its money helping people with 3% overhead...Social Security has similar numbers.
Sorry, but your "fraud" isn't fraud. It's simply clerical error.
First of all, thank you for pointing out that the government entitlement programs are badly managed. Secondly, even the government acknowledges the huge number of fraudulent claims.
And yet the government operates at a much much much lower cost and actually spends more on patient care than any private company entity. So it seems that it isn't the government that is badly managed, it's private insurance companies. willie, failed again.
The welfare queen driving a Cadillac has been replaced by the welfare queen with a killer smart phone.
Have to admit the connies are willing to change.
Don't blame me. You're the one who said that most of the 14 billion dollars in waste for the welfare program was due to clerical errors.
When there is a "sudden" 33% drop in lifeline users when the government adds a recertification requirement, I think it is safe to assume that there are some "Royals" abusing the system. I can't really say what kind of cars they are driving.
Only if he was talking on the phone to the golf channel while Tiger was in his backswing.
Actually, I wish he played a lot more golf. It would keep him out of mischief. Maybe he can play in Hawaii through March 1 so we can get the government cuts that are necessary. If nobody in Washington likes the forced cuts then it sounds like a good thing to me.
Poeple weren't smart enough to vote him out of office last time, why would you expect a different result this time? Besides that, it would be a huge waste of the taxpayers money to have a recall election. It could be almost as expensive of Obamacare. Besides that, he is great entertainment.....almost as good as Joe Biden.
Here is some Americana for your enjoyment. I wonder where these two fellas were doing their graduate work.

Your first statement is false.
Thanks for contributing this rant. Why do you get so angry? Do you really believe that you are smarter than everyone who voted for Obama?
Don't blame me. Madhatter was the one who said that most of the 14 billion in welfare waste was due to clerical errors. I was simply agreeing with him.....in addition to the three types of freeloaders who take advantage of the system.
Bob Sakimano seems to think that conservatives are outraged at the fact that Obama played golf with Tiger Woods. I would like to see him play everyday if possible.
As for the vote, Bob was the one who wished that we had another chance to vote him out of office. I simply stated the futility of that effort for a number of reasons. I don't really care about things I can't control. I must say though that I do a lot of Yoga these days to mitigate stress. Based on your anger, you might want to consider it too.
Smarter than everyone who voted for Obama? Absolutely not. More successful than that the vast majority of Obama voters? Aboslutely yes.
I reject your argument because, in your view, anybody to the right of Karl Marx is a conservative. As for me being a moron, well you have a point. Proof being that I spend my time on this board......almost as much time as you do.
Brilliant and successful too. The chics must be all over you.

Never said anything about being brilliant. If I were, I wouldn't be wasting so much time on this board.
I've been happily married for many years. I used to do pretty well in my days at MSU but those days are long past. Successful...... in many ways. I guess it depends on how you define it.
No, I said the when people who are no longer eligible collect benefits, it's a clerical error. The vast majority of the actual fraud is perpetrated by the providers, not the recipients. Not that I expect you to understand the difference.
Typical conservative tactic. Promote conservative ideas, then deny being a conservative because being called a conservative is insulting.
