You just said that by making them illegal, "A) it would be illegal and that alone would risk them getting caught and not being able to carry it out, and B) The costs would be much much higher since it would be purchased on the black market". They would be harder to get if they were illegal, that's what you just stated. Doesn't mean they wont be available to some people willing to commit crimes, but in your own words, they would be illegal and that alone would make them higher risk to purchase.
If AR-15s and other similar rapid fire weapons were illegal, unless Adam Larza's mom was willing to commit a felony and pay a heck of a lot more, Adam Larza would have probably had to settle for using a bolt action rifle that fired bullets at a much slower rate than the AR-15 he used and more kids would have survived.
We need society reform, not gun reform....I've never been one to blame violence in movies and video games, but with each passing tragedy like this one a profile slowly consolidates. First step is to get rid of these stupid gun free zones. To anybody who supports this I ask would they stick one of those signs in front of your house? Second step would be to implement more safety measures at school. I'm not blaming Obama for this, but since many liberals like to blame all the events due to policy changes on Presidents ( i.e. Dubya ) then it should be noted that since Obama came to office he has drastically cut key measures and budgetary proposals for school security, including Readiness and Emergency Management for schools, the Schools Safety Initiative, and SOS ( Secure Our Schools) and the COPS in schools program. If Dem's are gonna criticize Republicans for cutting Embassy Security funding after Benghazi then it's only fair he take some heat for this. Since I'm a big fan of letting the states fund education I would not criticize these actions as a general principle, but nonetheless I think states need to do more to provide better security.
No that's not what I said. You claimed that they don't use machine guns and your conclusion is because it's due to its limited availability created through banning. I was explaining to you the reason they don't use illegal weapons, because legal ones are already available. Take away the legal ones and obviously they will turn to the black market to obtain them, and since they'd all be illegal at that point they would no longer have a disincentive to buy the biggest and baddest.
another attack from the peanut gallery. What's funny is that the more I'm hated, the more people are drawn to me. Weird behavior exhibited by people on this board who are intolerant to opposing viewpoints
So far in various threads this is your take: Obama, Liberals, Obama, More guns, Fast and the Furious, Obama, Liberals, Benghazi, Obama, Liberals, making guns illegal makes them harder to get, but that doesn't mean that making guns illegal makes them harder to get, Obama, Liberals, blah blah blah.
You are truly a fool and have literally less than nothing to add. 20 kids and 6 adults were murdered because some gun nut taught her mentally unstable son to use assault rifles and then gave him access to them and this doesn't give you pause from doing your schtick for one moment? Seriously, are you really that stupid or are you just a sick piece of garbage?
Ah yes, the strawman has finally emerged...took longer than normal, so kudos to you for that....Benghazi LOL
so, you're saying the answer to gun violence is more guns, and that the root problem is movies and video games, and the societal cure is better guards.
now why would anyone attack you for that well thought out answer?
beaumont, are you surprised at how many posters are drawing this conclusion about you?
I don't think I've ever seen anything like it on Wells, outside of Old Wise One.
I must be crazy to be in a loony bin like this.
Nah, I'm guessing Lanza would have just called up some people he knew (since he was such an outgoing, popular guy), arranged to buy a few semi-automatic weapons out of the back of some dude's trunk, and then efficiently killed 26 people with the newly-purchased guns he had never been taught to use.
LOL, you didn't just bring up Benghazi? You didn't bring up Fast and Furious in another thread? You didn't just try to make the case that making guns illegal makes htem harder to get but that doesn;t mean they are harder to get? No Strawman is needed because your schtick is actually easier to expose than any Strawman I could think up would be. What an idiot.
We've has 31 school shootings since Columbine took place, and not 1 new gun law.
Reminds me of those school shooters looking for attention.
where did I say more guns?
You're a hack
and you're arguing gun free zones are to blame, therefore you want more guns there.
I never said making guns illegal makes them harder to get. That would be you.
About Benghazi, do you think I could find a post by you that criticized Republicans for cutting funds for security immediately after Benghazi? Shouldn't I also then find you criticizing Obama for doing the same? It was brought up in response to a question by another poster, and you applied that to our conversation. That's a strawman argument.
Yes we have had new gun laws since Columbine

Do people really think the AR15 or Bushmaster is more deadly than pistols? Hell to the no. The Bushmaster was the least lethal weapon he had. Short magazines, bulkier gun, harder to aim and shoot accurately in a small time frame.
These pistols on the other hand, you could fire off kill shots in an extremely rapid pace, and re loading the larger magazines is way less time consuming. Do these liberal idiots really think the Bushmaster is what did the kids in? Ok, you give someone an AR15, and give me a Glock. I guarantee you I could with the Glock inflict more ham on a room full of people in a small time frame. Not even close.

This simply wrong. Trying to argue with people that don't know squat about the subject is futile.
eliminating gun free zones does not create more guns. What would have potentially been the worst-case scenario if these shootings would have occurred in locations that did not have gun free zones? And what potentially would have been the best-case scenario? Like everything else in life you need to look at the risk/reward ratio. That's not even mentioning the deterrent factor
actually i do know something about this. so in what hunting circumstance is a semi-auto required?
Yeah, I'm as evil as the kid who killed 20 school kids!!
Spartytruth, you are what one would call a deep thinker
All but one mass shooting since 1950 occurred in a gun free zone.
Question authority. Power to the people
This entire post is wrong. Every letter, every word.
With minimal practice it takes less than a second to replace a magazine. I dont see how changing the size is going to change anything. Its not like a bunch of zombies are running towards you and you have to quickly reload before they get to you. People are running for their lives and the one second it takes to change a magazine isnt going to stop you.
AR 15 Varminter Sportsman model is sold with a 5 shot magazine. There are a lot places including online outlets that sell 30 round magazines for AR-15's.
As posted all the children killed were shot with an AR-15.
CBS news reported that one of the victims, Noah Pozner, 6, who was buried today was shot 11 times.
Hopefully this fact doesn't go unnoticed by the people looking for answers to the question why
You didn't say they were required, you said semi autos were not hunting guns. Nice try.
