Maybe Forest Hills could pay for the services at East Kentwood?
The ignorance in this post is off the charts.
Way to knock 1 of the 5, but let's talk.
I never said CCW mow down people. I said the two arguments most wildly espoused by CCW supports are personal defense - of which there is no additional benefit to CCW - and deterrence - which CCW hurts! Deterrence works based on the opposing party's knowledge of your capabilities. Hiding a gun, versus visibly brandishing it, doesn't deter crime, it just makes crime more deadly.
I've shared your position for years. Full agreement. Doesnt have to be everyone. Maybe a principal or v.p.? Other staff? A few teachers who wanted to take extra training?
I wonder if teachers and school staff will start to advocate for this ability after yesterday?
Coach Dantonio is my Spartan!
I wonder how much liability insurance that would cost.
If you take a look at Wells you'll see there's one side that thinks teachers are just lazy leeches who don't contribute to society on the whole....... yet we're discussing adding an entirely new, costly initiative in public schools?
Let me ask you a question and this involves no politics, just common sense.
If you were one of these whackos considering going somewhere to kill a lot of people which would you choose as your target?
a) a "gun free" zone where no one would be firing back so you can go about your evil business at leisure.
b) a venue where you know every capable adult is armed.
I guarantee you which would be chosen because it's where they go now. How many mass shootings have you heard of at gun ranges?

This statement only shows a complete lack of knowledge about guns.
"assault" rifles have no more killing power or efficiency than a common hunting rifle.
There is no way to have a rational discussion about this until the shock wears off.
I am gravely disappointed. Again you have made me unleash my dogs of war.
Would you consider a guard or a deputy inside a school a good idea? IF so, why would 1 gun inside a school be a good idea and 20-30 a bad idea?
My point is that these shootings happen where guns are banned. Who respects the gun ban? Law abiding citizens.
For the bad guys the gun ban only clears the area of threats to them. The LAST thing they're worried about is violating some silly gun ban on their way to slaughtering innocent people.
I don't understand why that concept seems so hard for people to grasp as they yell for MORE gun bans which simply clear more areas for mass killings.
So your solution is to make our schools look a little more like gun ranges?
Yes. Put the guns IN the schools...brilliant plan.
So the psycho will find out what kind of weapons the school has and bring in more firepower and bulletproof himself. You really want a full all out war in a school with kids.
Just let the kids bring their guns to school and protect themselves.

liability insurance? Good question. Do schools pay more insurance costs if they have a city police officer walking the halls? Are there private security companies that are hired by schools? Not sure what the insurance answer is.
However, if teachers and school personnel believe the time is right to entertain this concept, should we? I have a CPL and would feel comfortable carrying in my work place. If the country is ready to have this conversation, I'd say let's get to it.
Setting aside negative comments about teachers that some may have shared, I believe the time is right for educators and parents to lead this conversation.
Kindergarten Cop was ahead its time.
hoke- to alter or manipulate so as to give a deceptively or superficially improved quality or value.
Not at all.
I think schools looking more like gun ranges is a perfectly acceptable alternative to 20 slaughtered kids.
I'd rather have my kids/grandkids teachers/administrators packing heat than attending their funeral.
No. Next question
How many of these individuals have been in a combat environment and would know how to react under the stresses of having bullets fired at them by semi-automatic firearms, god forbid an assault rifle or easily modified fully auto? Even cops are killed in gun fights and they train quite well and quite often.
I don't think that's such a good idea, honestly.
Edit: I've been trolled. Good work.

The real solution is a division of tanks on every elementary school playground.
Let's see - cops at every school or armed teachers.
Well, here's my plan - giant magnets in the ceiling of every room - a gunmen comes in and then principal flips the switch and everything metal is instantly on the ceiling. Could be tough on kids with braces though, will have to work that one out in the lab.
Oh wait, you were being serious. In that case, maybe we should talk about real mental health services and have a real discussion w/o all the typical Wells bs about guns and violence in our society.
That's just like your opinion man
Since you seem to have a deep knowledge of weaponry, could you explain to me the difference in facing an assault rifle vs a semi auto? It must be a significant upgrade since you're hoping god forbids it.
LWS joins Carolina Sparty and fallen by defending the shooter. Truly sad.
