Another four years of the same. Partisan politics are for sure to continue. This election did a few things:
- Proved that the country is ever more divided
- Election tactics will never be the same
- Society has moved toward the center with an appetite for dependency on government
Does anyone really think we will see 12 million new jobs anytime soon? I see gas prices staying high, cost of food rising, slow job growth continuing-
Does anyone really think that 'just' taxing the rich will be enough to pay down the national debt and that the middle class won't absorb more taxes?
Does anyone really think that the threat from the Middle East is on the decline now that Osama is dead?
Time will tell...

My aren't you just a little ray of sunshine.
look on the bright side - people have said the same thing after every election since the end of WWII, and we're still here. everything will return to normal once the baby boomers start dying.
just keep repeating, "Carousel".
I think we should take some of these people, and send 'em up to Bear Mountain for a picnic.
I pretty much dismissed you the second I noticed that you were too stupid to know the difference between bipartisan and partisan.
Maybe it's time for the house to stop stonewalling.
I must be crazy to be in a loony bin like this.
Why? They got re-elected too. And besides that, everything is much better now than it was 4 years ago.
Feel better? Call it election fatigue... there will always be someone to point out a grammatic error to base their opinion. If Biden can make a mistake.. I can- Now go criticize him-
The House is going to see a slaughter in 2012 should they continue the same tactics of the last 3 years. The Senate sets up great for Dems to take a super majority there in 2010 too.
Obama was just reelected in no small part due to the fact that the country sees him as the one who reached out and was rebuffed by the far right elements in the House. If Republicans think more of the same is the formula for success, they are welcome to it, and as a Democract I will gleefully reap the rewards in 2010.
you have a time machine???
Why did they regain the House then? The people voted. It goes both ways. Obama is forced to reach out as Clinton did toward the middle for any kind of success.
he's been trying for four years
We've got depth. We've got numbers.
4 more years and the "fundamental transformation" will be complete
Great, now we have to deal with a steady stream of whiny posts from compowned.
Perhaps you have forgotten, but Obama and Boehner were close on the "Grand Compromise" to both raise taxes on the rich and have huge spending cuts.......and it was sabatoaged by the Tea Party members in the House, who had an uprising against Boehner, and he folded.
If Boehner actually grows a sack, we might get some progress.
Please. Keep following me around the board with your weak insults towards everything I say. Nobody sees through it. Great post. More please.
what's to prevent huge spending cuts in the absence of increased taxes?
Please continue with your weepy and/or dishonest posting. It's hilarious.
And how would that help Obama? Obama hasn't been able to get a single vote of approval for his budget the last 2 years. The Senate is united in a 100% bipartisan REJECTION of Obama's proposals. Think about that...not a single vote, not even a token "Hey, this won't pass, but I'm with you Prez" vote.
The important thing is that there IS IN FACT SLOW JOB GROWTH. I would be skeptical if it rebounded just like that.
Look. Stock market was what at like 7,000 when O took office, now what is it at Zonk? The numbers in favor of a canidate train goes both ways.
Tell me who is to blame for the stonewalling, is it that Obama's policies are just too radical for the house to work with on a compromise or is it the house has something else against Obama no matter what his policies are? I'm going with the latter.
And yet I'm sure you have NO problem with Reid going on record saying he wouldn't work with Romney if he got elected. I'm right, aren't I?
It is way too early to make assumptions about 2014. A lot can happen in two years. How many people wrote off the Republican Party in 2008?
The idiot Tea Party does need to go though.
The RCMB...is one of the most awful, alarming, inappropriate, disgusting, and offensive msg boards in the history of the internet.
They didn't regain the House, they retained it. Idiot.
Oh, and I noticed you corrected your OP after you were owned by chris14.

The Republicians held onto the House in no small part due to redistricting in 2010 when the "Obama" voters stayed home and the Tea Party voting in John Birch types.
Even with Obama's victory the states are more Red and so there will not be any real reflection of people's values at the state level.
However don't take the Republician House victory as a validation of a belief in what they did to President Obama as it was as much a structual victory as a victory of ideas.
Lurking on tRCMB since 1996
Never heard this. If true they now have it coming to them for being such jagoffs,
