Those poll results don't surprise me. Most people I know who attend religious services regularly and are involved with their church, synagogue or mosque are very pleasant to be around while those I know who distain religion tend to be angry and bitter. Hard to say, of course, that it's cause-and-effect... are pleasant people more likely to attend church or does church attendence make a person more pleasant?
